What are two kinds of


ways animals are adapted?
Organisms adapt to fit their environments. Some adaptations are
structural. They are changed body parts that help an organism
survive. Other adaptations are behavioral. They are activities that
help organisms. Both structural and behavioral adaptations are inherited.

The hummingbird has legs that


can tuck close to the body.
This makes it easier for the
hummingbird to fly. This is a
structural adaptation.

The hummingbird is born


knowing how to make a nest.
It is also born knowing how
to take care of its offspring.
These are behavioral
