ARTICLE I
Name of the Choir
Section 1. This choir shall be known as the “Vocem
Harmonica de San Isidro Labrador” (VHSIL). The
organization was established on November 22, 2015.
Section 2. The name shall not be changed without the
agreement of 2/3 of the members.
ARTICLE II
Purpose and Objectives
Section 1. Purposes
The following are the purposes of the choir:
 To witness and to prove that the Lord Jesus Christ is
God and to seek to lead others to personal faith in
Christ as Lord and Savior
 Encourage the development of educational, spiritual,
vocational, personal and musical skills
 To develop healthy human and spiritual relationships
Section 2. Objectives
The following are the objectives of the choir:
 To sing praises to our Lord
 To share God-given talent to sing
 To serve our church and our community while having
fun
 To strengthen the spiritual relationship to the Lord
ARTICLE III
Membership
Section1. Membership is open to any person who enjoys
associating with other and has been approved by the Choir
Director and by the Officers.
Section 2. Membership is not limited to members of San
Isidro Labrador Parish.
Section 3. Any member that has not been present for
1year will be dropped from the rolls without any valid
reason.
ARTICLE IV
Officers and their Duties
Section 1. The officers shall be a President, Vice President,
Secretary, Treasurer and Public Relations Officer (PRO).
Choir adviser and choir director is excluded in voting
because they have been appointed.
Section 2. The officers shall be elected yearly and shall
enter their official duties at the next meeting.
Section 3. The term of officers shall be 1 year unless they
agree to be nominated to a second term. In no event shall
an officer serve more than 2 consecutive years without
their approval and 2/3 of the total membership having been
present and voting for such officer.

Section 4. Duties of the President
a. To preside at all meetings in which they are in
attendance
b. To update the choir adviser and choir director
c. To oversee the administration of choir affairs such as
planning, meeting time and location, finances, record
keeping, document creation or reproduction.
d. To have the authority over the entire choir
Section 5. Duties of the Vice-President
a. To assume the duties in the absence of the President
b. To perform duties as requested by the President or
by a simple majority of the members present at a
duly called meeting
c. To follow the order of the President, Choir Adviser
and Choir Director
Section 6. Duties of the Secretary
a. To keep minutes of all duly called meeting
b. To keep an up-to-date roster of all members
c. To keep an attendance record at all practice sessions,
meeting and other events deemed appropriate.
d. To create document such as request letter,
solicitation letter, sponsorship letter and the like.
e. To keep the secret of the organization
Section 7. Duties of the Treasurer
a. To maintain records of funds on hand (in cash or in
checking account)
b. To provide information to members monthly or as
requested by the president or adviser.
Section 8. Duties of the Public Relations Officer (PRO)
a. To disseminate information to all the choir member
b. To remind and update the choir
Section 9. Duties of the Choir Adviser
a. To make appropriate recommendations on whatever
aspects of the choir he sees fit.
b. To assist the choir in all activities
c. To have the responsibility of being available for the
personal consultation by any member of the choir.
Section 10. Duties of the Choir Director
a. To have the responsibility of musically directing the
choir
 Song selection
 Teaching of songs
 Finding additional musicians as needed
b. To make decisions regarding the music performed by
the choir
c. To lead the choir in the mission of singing God’s
praises and cares for each member as Christ cares for
his flock
ARTICLE V
Rules and Regulations
Section 1. Voting
a. Any member can nominate themselves for a position
 b. Multiple members can be nominated for single
position
c. Each member shall have one vote per position
d. Voting by proxy is not allowed for elections of
officers
Section 2. Meeting and Rehearsal
a. Meetings and Rehearsals must start and end with a
short prayer.
b. Meetings for choir affair shall be called by the officers
or upon the request of any member.
c. Meetings for choir rehearsal shall be held weekly.
d. Regular meeting of the choir is every 4th Sunday of
the month.
e. Meetings must begin on time, everybody is
encourage to arrive at least 15 minutes before the
scheduled time.
f. During meetings and rehearsals, to avoid wasting the
time, everybody should pay attention and avoid
engaging in conversation with others.
g. Choir Rehearsals begin on time when everybody
arrives at least 30 minutes before the scheduled time
and the seats and the sheet music are prepared in
advance.
h. As soon as the introduction to a song is begun to be
played by the instrument, everybody should become
silent and listen to the introduction
i. When the music director or anybody else is speaking
no music instruments should be played so everybody
can listen to whoever is speaking with respect.
j. No using of gadgets for unless it is needed for lyrics
and recordings.
Section 3. Attire
a. During mass, the choir should wear their assign
uniform or any decent clothes.
b. Sleeveless, tube, spaghetti, plunging neckline, shorts,
miniskirts and slippers are not allowed.
c. Costumes shall be as designated by the choir
member with consultation of the adviser and
director.
d. Costumes during performances must be appropriate
to the events theme.
e. Costumes must be wearing by the choir members
only. If the costume will be borrowed by the other
choir outside the parish, ask the permission of the
choir adviser.
Section 4. Attendance
a. The prompt attendance of choir members to all
meetings and rehearsals is mandatory. It is the
responsibility of the choir member to inform the
secretary if an absence, or extensive lateness, is
unavoidable.
b. Every member is encouraged to avoid absenteeism
and tardiness.
c. Three (3) consecutive absences without any valid
reason will have a suspension for 1 month. It is the
responsibility of the choir member to attend
meetings, performances and rehearsals.
Section 5. Mass
a. It is a good idea to say a short prayer before the choir
sings at Mass to remind the members that they sing
to the Lord.
b. Choir members talk to each other only as necessary
regarding the music for the mass. No other
conversation is conducted.
c. Choir members maintain a prayerful behavior, giving
a good example to others.
d. A member will not sing at mass without attending the
rehearsal.
e. The choir will participate in mass responses.
f. Arrive on mass with proper attire as mention in this
article section 3.
g. No using of gadgets for unless it is needed for lyrics
and recordings.
a. Musical instruments such as microphones, keyboard,
amplifier and mixer must be operated by the
assigned choir member. No one will operate the
mention instrument unless the officers request it.
b. In case of borrowing, ask the permission of the
choir adviser, choir director, and officers.
ARTICLE VI
Amendment
Section 1. These By-Laws may be amended by a two-thirds
vote of all members present at any regular meeting,
following the meeting at which the amendments are
present.

Section 6. Performances and Competition

a. It is a good idea to say a short prayer before the choir
sings at a performances or competition to remind the
members that they sing to the Lord.
b. A member will not sing at performance or
competition unless she/he attended the last 2
rehearsals.
c. If a member cannot participate in competition or
performance, for whatever reason, he or she shows
support for the choir.
d. Members come to a performance at least one hour
before the scheduled time to allow for warming up.
