Huaytará is one of the 7 provinces of the department of Huancavelica, whose name in Quechua
means flowering. it is located at 2930 m.s.n.m., and borders the department of Ica on the south
and west, and with the Ayacucho on the east. the population of this place is dedicated entirely
to agriculture, are known for their high yields in the sowing of alfalfa and fruit trees
The Samuel Humberto Espinoza Lozano Archaeological Museum presents its current
headquarters, in a three-story building, conditioned to house the valuable material it presents.
This museum is under the administration and supervision of the Ministry of Culture and among
the pieces it houses, it is recognized: a large amount of ceramic remains, as well as metals,
organic pieces, textiles, plumarios, among other objects that are testimony to the ancient
peoples that occupied the territory of Huancavelica.
In addition to its exhibition halls, the Samuel Humberto Espinoza Lozano Archaeological
Museum also has an auditorium, which is open both to receive and to give lectures, seminars,
among other cultural events, related to the subject matter of the establishment.

Tuesday through Sunday, from 9 in the morning until 5 in the afternoon.
