KABUKIRAN FESTIVAL 2019

CONTEST MECHANICS AND GUIDELINES:

The concept of the dance performance must depict the culture, values and traditions
revolving and in relation to life of San Isidro or “Pagsasaka”. This year’s theme would be
“__________________________________.” To add color and identity to the
performance, the participating purok/sub-parish may incorporate their own identity

GENERAL RULES:

1. Each group must be composed of a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50


members (this includes non-dancers crew and props men) and all must hail from
the purok/sub-parish they represent. There will be no age limit as long as they are
in good health and able to perform and wear the required costumes without
difficulty.

2. Props and costumes must be made in accordance with the theme. The use of
recycled materials is also encouraged. The use of highly flammable materials
(gas/kerosene) and pyrotechnics is strictly prohibited.

3. Throwing of performers above head level or any other dance movements that is
risky to the performers’ safety is not allowed and could mean disqualification from
the contest.

4. The sequence in the order of parade shall be based in chronological arrangement


of purok/sub-parish.

STREET DANCE COMPETITION (PARADE):

1. Each group shall have a ONE MINUTE-CHOREOGRAPHED-FORWARD


MOVING-STREET DANCE to be performed in designated areas where the
judges for the competition will be deployed.
Note: Dance steps and choreography should be progressive all throughout the
parade to facilitate the continuity and orderly flow of the parade. Stationary
dancing and facing the judges is strictly prohibited.

2. All Street Dance participants shall assemble at the Kawayanan Purok 5 no later
than ________, in their complete costume attire. Coming late would mean a 3
point-deduction to the TOTAL SCORE of the group. Parade will promptly start at
________.

3. Each group must assign two of their members to carry a banner (to be provided by
the SK) bearing the name of the purok/sub-parish they are representing.

4. The Street Dancers must perform their dance routine as soon as the parade starts
until they reach the parade’s end point.

5. The SAN ISIDRO THEMED MUSIC, whose already been provided to each
participating group from succeeding competition, shall be the only dance music
accompaniment to be used during the full length of the parade route. Each group
shall provide their own SOUND SYSTEM (tricycles/carts/ trucks) that are loud
enough for all the dancers to hear.
