Yogi Bhajan Teaches Sobagh Kriya: Invoke the Wealth of the Universe

Taught by Yogi Bhajan on 6/21/96 at Summer Solstice

Your normal process of life is to not give; not giving yourself a chance, not giving to others.
You do not believe in creating a vacuum. When there is a vacuum, God must fill it. I'm not
saying that you are poor. But you could have more. Giving is the way of the rich—giving
services, giving expertise, giving work, giving to others to get blessings, giving something for
prayer, giving to the needy.

You don't pay attention. You sometimes just don't want to do anything. Sometimes you are
not very agreeable. You are more concerned with scare tactics, with insecurities, than with
your power to expand.

I'm trying to give you a very handy tool so that you can be anywhere, and you can become
rich. I'm not going to give you printed money, but I'm giving you a tool of prosperity. Will that
be cool? All right, let's do it.

And I'd like you to be your own judge. See how it works. There are a lot of things that you
think you can't do, like looking unique or being excellent. But you only think these things
because you are afraid of the responsibility. If the psyche is corrected once in a while, for a
few minutes here, or a few minutes there, you'll be surprised how much good you can do for
yourself.
Sobagh Kriya
This is a five-part kriya. Each part must be practiced for an equal amount of time, either 3
or 11 minutes. Do not exceed 11 minutes. Only Meditation #1 can be practiced on its
own, separately from the other exercises.

Meditation #1

To become rich and prosperous with wealth and values is to

have the strength to come through. It means transmissions
from your brain and the power of your intuition can
immediately tell you what to do. By practicing this
meditation, you will be in a position to immediately change
gears. If you need to go in reverse, you can go in reverse. If
you need to go forward, you can go forward.

This is a very simple, old system. This is called "moon

mound." (Indicates outer side of hand along the small
finger.) This side of my hand along the index finger is called
Jupiter. Put the thumbs under the index fingers. (Thumbs
cross below the hands, with the right thumb under the
left.) I hit the Moon; I hit Jupiter. You are thinking, "What is
this going to do?" This is going to straighten your head out.

Chant with Tantric Har with each movement. Alternate

hitting the moon sides and the Jupiter sides of the hands
together at the level of the heart centre. Eyes should be
nine-tenths dosed, focusing on the tip of the nose.

You should not do it more than 3 minutes when you are working during the daytime or
you'll become too rich! No, no, I'm not kidding with you. Hey, you guys, you think I am
joking. Come on; let's do what works.

You are not going to mint all the money right now, but this is what I am telling you. Any
time when you are puzzled and you are in bad shape, do 3 minutes of this meditation. If
you do it for 11 minutes a day, it's more than enough. Doing too much will be greed. It
stimulates the mind: the Moon centre and the Jupiter. When Jupiter and the Moon come
together, there is no way in the world you will not create wealth. I'm not talking of
money. Money is a common word. Money is only a medium. I'm talking of wealth. It'll
come to you.

What I'm trying to tell you is that it's all in you. It's not outside. Just stimulate certain
parts of the brain. I'm not going to do anything. It's going to work
Meditation #2

Now, there are times when you are depressed,

there are times you are impressed. When you are
impressed, you usually do the wrong things. Are
you listening? And when you are depressed, you
always do wrong things. That's a fact. When you are
impressed, you don't use your intuition.

Stretch your arms up sixty degrees. Open your

fingers, spreading them widely. The fingers have to be
totally hard. If you do it correctly, you will get the
results. I will only tell you. I'm not going to do it for
you. Look at how hard my fingers are. They are open.

Now, in rhythm with the same Tantric Har but without

chanting out loud, cross your arms alternating right
over left and then left over right, still keeping the
fingers stretched open.

Right in front, left behind. Fingers spread wide,

arms open. Left in front, right behind.

Meditation #3

You know this id, the thumb? Put them both in

your fists and press as hard as you can, like you
are going to squeeze the blood out of them.

Press, press, press hard. Arms at sixty degrees.

Move the arms in small backward circles. Press

the id. Press, press, press hard. With each circle
you make of your arms chant "God." Chant "God"
powerfully from the navel. Come on, machos. You
are getting out of shape. From the navel. Okay,
okay, that's it.
The word "God" has three letters: "G," which generates; "O," which organizes; and "D," which
delivers and destroys. They are three sounds: G-0-D. God. When "God" is chanted from here
(points to his navel point), then God can hear. When you chant "God" from the mouth, it
makes no difference. He doesn't even hear it. For this meditation it can only be chanted when
you take the id and squeeze it really hard. And the circle has to be powerful. The entire spine
shakes. Sometimes you'll find you are lifting yourself from the ground. Don't worry. It's not a
small exercise. Now keep it going: stretch it, tight, tight, as tight as you can. And the circle
should be tight.

Meditation #4

All right, relax. Suppose nothing works in your life—you don't remember things, you want
to get out of trouble, but you can't reach anybody. (Yogi Bhajan demonstrates the posture
and mantra. The right hand goes up and the left hand goes down; palms facing the body;
hand cross each other.) Left hand 4” in front of the heart centre; right hand 4” in front of
the left. Palms facing the body; move hands quickly up and down.

Har Haray Haree, Wahe Guru. The mantra is a sound current through the tongue and
upper palate. Har Haray Haree, Wahe Guru (Wahe is pronounced "wa-hay"). Continue
chanting in a low monotone. Like Tibetans. Keep going. Deeper—from the base. Cut down
your karmas forever. Deeper sound from the navel. Try it with honesty.

Don't slack off. (6 minutes.) Now whisper. Strongly whisper. Use the prana (breath). Burn
any disease. Change the metabolism. (3 minutes.) Whistle. (2 minutes.) Then stop it. (If
you are doing this meditation for 3 minutes total, each part is done for one minute.)

Meditation #5

Put your arms at shoulder level, left hand

under, right over. Breathe long and deep.
Don't let the hands fall. They should be
parallel to the ground; that's the law.

Keep your spine straight; sit correctly. Do

nothing; just breathe one breath a minute:
20 seconds to inhale, 20 seconds to hold, 20
seconds to exhale. Try it. See what it does for
you. Breathe consciously one breath a
minute.

This is a complete set. It is called Sobagh Kriya.

If there is a misfortune written by the will of God, by doing this set you will make it into
good fortune. I'm not saying "man-made". I'm saying if God Himself has written that you
shall live under misfortune, by doing Sobagh Kriya you can tum your misfortune into
prosperity, good fortune, and good luck.

This is the most sacred and absolutely most powerful kriya of Kundalini Yoga. And it is in
parts.

You can do each part either 3 minutes or 11 minutes, not more.

If you do 3 minutes; do 3 minutes, 3 minutes, 3 minutes, 3 minutes, and 3

minutes.

If you do 11 minutes, do 11, 11, 11, 11, 11.

That's the time. And do not exceed. I repeat, do not exceed. So, I'd advise you to
move very cautiously, very slowly. Affectionately practice it.
