Lesson Objective:
 Students listen to, then play “In the Tall, Tall Grass” while understanding rhythm changes based on
syllables in words

Assessment of Lesson:
 Are students able to play “In the Tall, Tall Grass” and correctly change rhythms based on the words
in the book?

 Prior to this class period, students composed their own melodies to a set rhythm on xylophones
