Jane Doe
Senior Nurse Manager
Banner University Medical Center
1501 N. Campbell Ave.
Tucson, AZ 85724

Dear Jane Doe:

I am writing in regard to a position on the Pediatric Hematology Oncology unit through the New
Nurse Transition Program at Banner University Medical Center. I will be graduating in May 2019
where I will receive my Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Arizona’s College of
Nursing. I truly believe that with the rigorous and thorough education that I have been provided
through my program has prepared me to work on your unit. My education combined with my
dedication and compassion for the nursing field makes me a prime candidate for this position.
I believe that this strong educational background coupled with my passion and dedication for this
field has prepared me well for my professional career as an RN in this area.

Further, my clinical experiences have also prepared me to transition into my professional career as
an RN in Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. Throughout my various rotations, I have accumulated
over 500 clinical hours in high acuity settings which have allowed me to build confidence in my
performance while working with high-acuity patients. More specifically, I have over 100 clinical
hours spent working directly in the Banner Diamond Children’s Center itself. Most notably, I was
given the opportunity to complete my five-week preceptorship on the Cardiac-Thoracic
Intermediate Care Unit at Banner UMC which allowed to work closely with Banner Nurses and
come to admire the welcoming working environment Banner provides.

Outside of school, I currently volunteer with a Global Health Community and have shown
leadership as a volunteer chair. I also was able to serve as a summer intern at the Medication
Management Center and collaborate with licensed pharmacists to provide patients with medication
reviews and emphasize medication adherence. Additionally, I have validated my passion for
working with children through volunteering to provide child care during service at my local church
weekly.

It would be an honor if I were to be chosen for this position at Banner University Medical Center. If
given the opportunity, I vow to uphold the values of Banner UMC that we can “make health care
easier, so life can be better” for patients and their families. Please do not hesitate to contact me with
any questions or concerns. I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best wishes,

Chloe Heenan
