Three out of four New York City voters say they support the proposed legislation to regulate
Airbnb, while just 14 percent oppose. Respondents were asked whether they support or oppose a
policy proposal that would limit hosts to one full-time listing in New York City. Respondents were given
a definition of full-time listings as properties that are used mostly as short-term rentals through Airbnb.
The proposal also will create a streamlined registration system authorizing short-term rental platforms
like Airbnb to register hosts with the state and ban short-term rentals in all affordable housing, in
addition to various provisions designed to ensure that Airbnb hosts are held accountable.
