Commercial Jingle Project

Due on Schoology on Fri, 5/3 at beginning of class

Our Learning Goal: ​I can digitally compose a piece of music within specified guidelines.

For this project, you will create a 15-30 second audio jingle that promotes a product. This
product could be real or imaginary. You can use GarageBand to put together loops, digitally “play” an
instrument, record voiceovers, record yourself singing, or record yourself playing an instrument.

Since this is an audio only jingle, you must have some sort of vocal or spoken explanation of
the product- it cannot be only instrumental.

Step 1: ​Brainstorm what kind of product you want to use for your Jingle. You can listen to radio jingles on
YouTube if you want. Start to think about what kind of music would best promote your product.

Step 2: ​Make a plan. Decide what you are going to say or sing, and decide what instruments or loops you want
to include.

Step 3: ​Create a new song in GarageBand and begin assembling the elements of your song.

Step 4: ​Edit until you have your final song. Give it a title with your name in it. Example: “Pepsi- Ms.
Hutchinson”. Export it by clicking “My Songs”, then “Select”, then the arrow pointing up and then click “iTunes”.
Please export as a SONG, not as a GarageBand project. Once you are done, upload the song to Schoology.
