ABOUT US

polymold products was established in 1971

by Raj Sampat, an Electronic Engineer from
University of Montana at Boseman (USA)
Polymold was a pioneer in PE pipe fittings in
India.

At that time it was molding exclusively for a pipe manufacturer.

We have come a very long way since then. Today the second genera-
tion company is run by his son Sachin Sampat. Polymold is a vendor to
most of India's largest pipe manufacturer's. Its product range for fittings
upto pipe size 1200mm is unmatched in the country .

Infrastructure
Polymold is centrally located at Khopoli ,about 80 kms from the business
capital of India - Mumbai (Bombay). With easy access to both airports
as well as seaports . We can handle all types of shipments FCL or LCL .
With a staff strength of 30+ employees, most of them having more
than 15 years of experience in the manufacturing field, we have the hu-
man resources to handle any type of job. We believe our customers
know their markets better than we do & therefore we are willing to as-
sist them in every way to help serve the industry better. We are happy
to customize products for our clients even if it is in small quantities. As
an exporter of fittings to more than 15 countries, we are highly quality
conscious. We use the best equipments for checking & testing our
products as well as sourcing the best raw material in the market.

Management Strategy
At Polymold we believe that customer satisfaction is the most important
factor to drive growth. We believe in long term partnerships. We are
committed to provide a quality product and timely delivery for every or-
der.

PHYSICAL PROPERTIES
1. Abrasion Resistance, Non Toxic and
Odourless : In tests conducted ,it has been proved
that HDPE is superior even to X-52 grade steel when
it comes to conveyance of iron ore water slurry. The
performance ratio is 3:1 in favour of HDPE. It is non
toxic and odourless.

2. Flexibility : The flexibility of HDPE pipe allows it to curved under, over

& around obstacles as well as directional changes. In some cases, the flexibility
of HDPE pipe reduces the need for fittings & saves installation costs. It can be
bent to a minimum radius of 20 to 40 times the pipe diameter.

3. Flow Factors : HDPE pipe has a smooth inner surface. A “C” factor of
150 is recommended in the William – Hazen formula. HDPE offers the unique
advantage of choosing a pipe of a lower dimension for same flow of liquid over
steel or cement pipes. Smooth inner walls & lower friction lead to energy saving
in pumping of liquids.

4. Life Expectancy : The hydrostatic design basis of HDPE pipe is based

on extensive testing data evaluated & standardized by industry methods. HDPE
has a projected life expectancy of 50+ years transporting water at 30 deg C.
HDPE pipes are protected with carbon black against UV radiation ( sunlight ).

5. Lightweight : It is lighter than Mild steel, Stainless steel, Concrete &

Cast iron. It is easier to handle & install as compared to above materials. Den-
sity = 0.95kg/cm2.

6. Welding : HDPE pipe can be joined by mechanical & butt fusion & elec-
trofusion methods. In butt fusion, the strength of the joint is stronger than the
pipe itself & the welding is homogenous. It can be flanged, tapped, reduced like
other piping materials.

7. Jointing : Polyethylene pipe is normally joined by heat fusion. Butt, socket,

create a joint that is as strong or stronger than the pipe itself, and is virtually
leak free. This unique joining method produces significant cost reductions com-
pared to other materials.

POLYPROPYLENE PIPING

Applications of PPH Pipe & Piping System Design

Polypropylene Pipes are available as per DIN 8077 standards in
RAL7032 color. They are widely used in industrial processing. They are
light weight, highly corrosion resistant and have high abrasion resis-
tance. They can be operated at a wide range of temperatures upto 110°
C. PPH also offers excellent chemical resistance to many aqueous so-
lutions of acids, alkalis and salts, and to a large number of organic sol-
vents.

Waste – Over a period of many years, polypropylene has become a

preferred material for handling many different types of liquid waste. This
material’s wide range of chemical
resistance makes it very suitable for handling the wide range of different
chemicals and mixtures that are found in different waste streams.

Deionized Water – Large volumes of distilled or deionized water are

used by a wide range of different industries. This water is often used for
diluting chemicals, washing and
rinsing.

Caustic Solutions
The chemical resistance of polypropylene to caustic solutions such as
potassium hydroxide and sodium hydroxide is very good.

Physical Properties
The physical properties of polypropylene combine strength, low weight,
abrasion resistance, impact strength and a wide operating temperature
range, making it a very suitable material for use in load bearing prod-
ucts. Combined with excellent all round chemical resistance and low
water absorption, these properties combine to provide a material that
meets all of the requirements for use in a piping system.

Purity
PPH complies with guidelines listed in the Federal Register, CFR Title 21, chapter
1, § 177.1520 a (1) for polypropylene and c (1.1) for compounds. Polypropylene is
suitable for transport of potable water, foodstuffs, and high purity deionized water.
Good Temperature Resistance
The polypropylene piping system is pressure rated to 150 psi (10 bar) at 70F (21
C) with a long term safety factor of 2.1. The upper long term temperature limit for
polypropylene is 176F (80C) and the temperature limit for short term use is 212F
(100C). However, as with all thermoplastic piping systems, an increase in tem-
perature is combined with a decrease in operating pressure.
Chemical Resistance
The chemical resistance properties of polypropylene are excellent. It is resistant to
aqueous solutions of acids, alkalis and salts and to a large number of organic sol-
vents. This wide range of chemical resistance allows this material to be used for
many piping systems that handle different chemicals including caustics, acids and
solvents. Polypropylene is not suitable for handling concentrated oxidizing acids
and halogens.
Beta (β) PP-H Material *
The material used in this system is an US FDA approved pigmented Group 1,
polymold products

Class 2 Beta neucleated homopolymer polypropylene. The addition of a pigment

improves the resistance to degradation by ultraviolet light and weathering, prevents
light transmission
into the wall of the pipe, and limits any embrittlement to the outside of the pipe wall.
This material is especially compounded to have improved mechanical strength,
safety factors, and low temperature impact resistance. This material meets the re-
quirements of ASTM D4101.
