Major Works Reflection

A. What Project are you most proud of?

I am most proud of my inquiry project. The actual inquiry question I chose to do my
project on has been a question I have always wondered about. This is the project I am
proud of the most because I feel that I chose a question that could potentially appeal to
many people. I feel I wrote this paper so that it will catch the readers’ attention and
keep their attention throughout the entire paper. The main reason I am most proud of
this project is because the project was completed near the end of the course and it
shows how I have grown as a writer throughout the entire semester.

B. Do you think these major works are a good representation of you as a writer?
Why/why not?
I do think these works are a good representation of me as a writer. I think these works
show that I am hard worker and always give 100 percent effort in all my works. I try to
take what Dr. Rand says in lecture and use it wisely in my projects. I feel these works
show that I strive to get as close to perfect as possible, even though we all know perfect
can never be achieved.

C. Please provide a specific example (with a link, image, screenshot, etc.) where you tried
something new in your writing process and explain what you learned from this.

This is a picture of my Concept

Map for my Inquiry Project. This was a new process for me in writing. In past projects I
would pick a topic and start writing. I had never really had “parts” to my projects. From
this new process I learned that creating a concept map really helps you figure out when
to use what sources. I learned these maps are like a short and sweet version of
annotated bibliography.
D. Please provide a specific example (with a link, image, screenshot, etc.) where you
relied on the writing processes you had prior to this course and explain why this made
the work successful.

Above I have posted the link to my Inquiry Project. My high school was a lot stronger in
the STEM fields than it was in the literature and language arts field. I knew very few
writing processes before completing these major projects. I only wrote one research
paper throughout my entire high school career. In this inquiry project the only
processes I knew how to do prior to this course were the formatting aspects and the
citations and works cited page. However, these were critical parts to the project
considering it was researched based. If I had not known how to do these things my
grade would have been greatly negatively impacted.
