Pre-assessment of current knowledge: 313 lesson. Also, watching them throughout the classroom. They had a lesson on sight as well.

Academic Language:
Sight, eyes, make, play dough, form, explain,
Procedural steps:
1. The students were invited over to my table.
*My lesson was given during play time, so the
students had to be convinced to come over.
2. The students were asked how we see things (i.e.
wanting them to answer, “our eyes”).
3. They will get two minutes to manipulate the play
dough and make something.
4. Then they will name what they made.
5. The students will get another round of two minutes to
make something else out of the play dough.
6. After they are done, they will share with the teacher
and the other students on what they made and why.
Authentic Materials: (Describe authentic real life, hands-on
materials.)
Play dough, timer.
Adult Roles:
The adult will scaffold their answers for what and why they
are making whatever they chose.
