THE THRITY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME

Evening Prayer

INTRODUCTION
God, + come to my assistance.
– Lord, make haste to help me.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
– as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be for ever. Amen. Alleluia.

HYMN
At the name of Jesus To the throne of Godhead,
Ev’ry knee shall bow, To the Father’s breast;
Ev’ry tongue confess him Filled it with the glory
King of glory now; Of that perfect rest.
’Tis the Father’s pleasure,
We should call him Lord, In your hearts enthrone him;
Who from the beginning There, let him subdue
Was the mighty Word. All that is not holy,
All that is not true;
Humbled for a reason, May your voice entreat him
To receive a name In temptation’s hour;
From the lips of sinners, Let his will enfold you
Unto whom he came, In its light and power.
Faithfully he bore it,
Spotless to the last, Brothers, this Lord Jesus
Brought it back victorious, Shall return again,
When from death he passed. With his Father’s glory,
O’er the earth to reign;
Bore it up triumphant, He is God the Savior,
With its human light, He is Christ the Lord,
Through all ranks of creatures, Ever to be worshiped,
To the central height, Always blest, adored.
Tune: King’s Weston 65.65 D
Music: R. Vaughn Williams, 1872-1958

PSALMODY

Ant. 1 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Psalm 122

I rejoiced when I heard them say: * For the peace of Jerusalem pray: *
“Let us go to God’s house.” “Peace be to your homes!
And now our feet are standing * May peace reign in your walls, *
within your gates, O Jerusalem. in your palaces, peace!”

Jerusalem is built as a city * For love of my brethren and friends *

strongly compact. I say: “Peace upon you.”
It is there that the tribes go up, * For love of the house of the Lord *
the tribes of the Lord. I will ask for your good.

For Israel’s law it is, * Glory to the Father,

there to praise the Lord’s name. and to the Son, *
There were set the thrones of and to the Holy Spirit:
judgment * as it was in the beginning, is now, *
of the house of David. and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. Pray for the peace of Jerusalem.

Silent Prayer
Ant. 2 From the morning watch until the night, I have waited trustingly for the
Lord.
Psalm 130
Out of the depths I cry to you, more than watchman for daybreak.
O Lord, * Let the watchman count on daybreak *
Lord, hear my voice! and Israel on the Lord.
O let your ears be attentive *
to the voice of my pleading. Because with the Lord
there is mercy *
If you, O Lord, should mark and fullness of redemption,
our guilt, * Israel indeed he will redeem *
Lord, who would survive? from all its iniquity.
But with you is found forgiveness: *
for this we revere you. Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Spirit:
My soul is waiting for the Lord, * as it was in the beginning, is now, *
I count on his word. and will be for ever. Amen.
My soul is longing for the Lord *

Ant. From the morning watch until the night, I have waited trustingly for the
Lord.
Silent Prayer

2
Ant. 3 Let everything in heaven and on earth bend the knee at the name of Jesus.
Canticle: Philippians 2:6-11

Though he was in the form of God, † and bestowed on him the name *
Jesus did not deem equality with God * above every other name,
something to be grasped at.
So that at Jesus’ name *
Rather, he emptied himself † every knee must bend
and took the form of a slave,* in the heavens, on the earth, *
being born in the likeness of men. and under the earth,
and every tongue proclaim †
He was known to be to the glory of God the Father: *
of human estate, * JESUS CHRIST IS LORD!
and it was thus that he
humbled himself, Glory to the Father, and to the Son,
obediently accepting even death, * *
death on a cross! and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
Because of this, * and will be for ever. Amen.
God highly exalted him

Ant. Let everything in heaven and on earth bend the knee at the name of Jesus.

READING 2 Peter 1:19-21

A reading from the second letter of Saint Peter
We possess the prophetic message as something altogether reliable. Keep your
attention closely fixed on it, as you would on a lamp shining in a dark place until
the first streaks of dawn appear and the morning star rises in your hearts. First
you must understand this: there is no prophecy contained in Scripture which is a
personal interpretation. Prophecy has never been put forward by man’s willing it.
It is rather that men impelled by the Holy Spirit have spoken under God’s
influence.
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

RESPONSORY
From the rising of the sun to its setting,
may the name of the Lord be praised.
– From the rising of the sun to its setting,
may the name of the Lord be praised.

His splendor reaches far beyond the heavens;

– may the name of the Lord be praised.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
– From the rising of the sun to its setting,
may the name of the Lord be praised.

GOSPEL CANTICLE Canticle of Mary
Ant. At midnight a cry was heard: Behold, the Bridegroom comes, go out to
meet him.

My + soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord, †

my spirit rejoices in God my Savior *
for he has looked with favor on his lowly servant.

From this day all generations will call me blessed: †

the Almighty has done great things for me, *
and holy is his Name.

He has mercy on those who fear him †

in every generation.
He has shown the strength of his arm, *
he has scattered the proud in their conceit.

He has cast down the mighty from their thrones, †

and has lifted up the lowly.
He has filled the hungry with good things, *
and the rich he has sent away empty.

He has come to the help of his servant Israel *

for he has remembered his promise of mercy,
the promise he made to our fathers, *
to Abraham and his children for ever.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, *

and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, *
and will be for ever. Amen.

Ant. At midnight a cry was heard: Behold, the Bridegroom comes, go out to
meet him.

INTERCESSIONS
Everyone who waits for the Lord finds joy. Now we pray to him:
Look on us with favor, Lord, and hear us.

* Faithful witness, first-born of the dead, you washed away our sins in your blood,
make us always remember your wonderful works.

* You called men to be heralds of your good news, make them strong and faithful
messengers of your kingdom.

* King of peace, send your Spirit on the leaders of the world, turn their eyes
toward the poor and suffering.

4
* Protect and defend those who are discriminated against because of race, color,
class, language or religion, that they may be accorded the rights and dignity which
are theirs.

* May all who died in your love share in your happiness, with Mary, our mother,
and all your holy ones.

HYMN

Sing with all the sons of glory, Life eternal! Heaven rejoices:
Sing the resurrection song! Jesus lives who once was dead;
Death and sorrow, earth’s dark story, Join, O man, the deathless voices;
To the former days belong. Child of God, lift up thy head!
All around the clouds are breaking, Patriarchs from the distant ages,
Soon the storms of time shall cease; Saints all longing for their heaven,
In God’s likeness, man awaking, Prophets, psalmists, seers, and sages,
Knows the everlasting peace. All await the glory given.

O what glory, far exceeding Life eternal! O what wonders

All that eye has yet perceived! Crowd on faith; what joy unknown,
Holiest hearts for ages pleading, When, amidst earth’s closing thunders,
Never that full joy conceived. Saints shall stand before the throne!
God has promised, Christ prepares it, O to enter that bright portal,
There on high our welcome waits; See that glowing firmament
Every humble spirit shares it, Know with thee O God immortal,
Christ has passed the eternal gates. “Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent.”

READING 2 Timothy 2:8, 11-13
A reading from the second letter of Saint Paul to Timothy
Remember that Jesus Christ, a descendant of David, was raised from the dead.
You can depend on this:
If we have died with him,
we shall also live with him;
If we hold out to the end,
we shall also reign with him.
But if we deny him he will deny us. If we are unfaithful he will still remain
faithful, for he cannot deny himself.
The Word of the Lord.
Thanks be to God.

Ant. That poor widow gave more than everyone, because in her poverty she
gave all she had.
Luke 1:68-79

Blessed + be the Lord, the God of Israel; *

he has come to his people and set them free.

He has raised up for us a mighty savior, *

Through his holy prophets he promised of old †

that he would save us from our enemies, *
from the hands of all who hate us.

He promised to show mercy to our fathers *

This was the oath he swore to our father Abraham: *

free to worship him without fear, *
holy and righteous in his sight

ANG BANAL NA MISA

Ika-32 Linggo sa Karaniwang Panahon (Taon B)

Mga Pagbasa

UNANG PAGBASA 1 Hari 17, 10-16

kaming tinapay.

Pinalaya niya ang mga nabihag;

isinasauli, paningin ng bulag;
lahat ng inapo ay itinataas,
ang mga hinirang niya’y nililingap.

Isinasanggalang ang mga dayuhang

sa lupain nila’y doon tumatahan;
tumutulong siya sa balo’t ulila,
masamang balangkas pinipigil niya.

Walang hanggang Hari,

ang Diyos na Poon!
Nabubuhay lagi ang Diyos mo, Sion!

IKALAWANG PAGBASA Hebreo 9, 24-28

kanya.

Ang Salita ng Diyos.

Salamat sa Diyos.

PAGBUBUNYI SA MABUTNG BALITA Mateo 5:3

Mapalad ang mga dukkha
na tanging D’yos na lumikha
ang pag-asa at adhika.

12
MABUTING BALITA Marcos 12, 38-44

PANGWAKAS NA AWIT Tell the World, Trina Bellamide

1. For God so loved the world, He gave us His only Son,
Jesus Christ our Savior, His most precious one.
He has sent us His message of love and sends those who hear
To bring the message to everyone in a voice loud and clear

Chorus:
Let us tell the world of His love, the greatest love the world has known.
Search the world for those who have walked astray and lead them home.
Fill the world's darkest corners with His light from up above.
Walk every step, every mile, every road
And tell the world, tell the world of His love

SALVE REGINA
O clemens, o pia, o dulcis Virgo Maria.
