Dear Mr. Johnson,
I am writing to you concerning the Assistant Store Manager position
available in the Downtown Indianapolis Area. I was informed of this
opening by one of my fellow baristas and I believe I fit the criteria for this
position. As a shift supervisor I am given certain tasks that are used to
motivate and teach the baristas that I manage. I encourage the growth of
each barista, support the customer experience as well as working
towards new ways for our store to create a warm and welcoming
environment for not only our customers but our partners as well.
Before I became a supervisor I was given the distinct opportunity to train
incoming baristas (and even a few returning partners) up to the
standards of the company. I encouraged new partners to sell the product
with dignity and respect, as well as create a culture of warmth and
belonging inside the store itself.
When I became a Shift I worked actively with my previous store manager
to develop a better method to reach the baristas with the knowledge of
customer experience as the survey became more relevant to our
practices as a company. This, in turn, helped me to push them to create a
warmer environment inside the store.
These are all things that the company pushes, not as marketing but as a
pure business model that keeps its customers at its core, and as a Store
manager, I know that I can use these same methods to connect to the
partners just a little more. It will become my own mission statement, not
just that of the company. I will personally make sure that my partners
keep customers first, that the culture is inviting to all, and that each
barista receives the same training that is up to the company standard.
