Instructional Input
Students will start by talking with a partner on how they think our school is funded. The Brea will discuss her slide on bonds and overrides.
Deborah will then show her video and then discuss her slide about school vouchers. Casandra will discuss her slide about Perkins Grants. Katelyn
will discuss her slide about Property Tax. Lexi will discuss her slide about Title One Schools. We will ask the students if they have any questions
and if they missed any of the notes. If they have questions we will answer them and then go back and show any notes that anyone might have
missed. We will then explain the directions of each game before the students split off. Students will then be split into groups chosen by the
random group generator. One group will play the monopoly game which Katelyn and Lexi will be overseeing. The other group will be playing hot
potato with a ball while sitting is a circle and when the music stops whoever has the ball in their hand will then say a characteristic about the type
of funding on the board Brea, Deborah, and Casandra will be overseeing and running the game. When 10 minutes has passed it will be time to
switch. Both groups will switch letting them to be able to play both games. They will then again have 10 minutes to play. Students will then head
back to their seats and write on a piece of paper what they learned from the lesson, this will be their ticket out the door.

Independent Practice
Both games, the advanced students are just their to help if the students have any questions or don’t understand something, most importantly
making sure the game runs smoothly. The games should be able to show us if they really understood the lesson.
