 How are frequency and wavelength related for a specific region of the
spectrum?
o In the electromagnetic spectrum there are many different types of
waves with varying frequencies and wavelength. They are all
related by one important equation; any electromagnetic waves,
frequency × wavelength = speed of light.
 What can you observe with the values of the product of frequency and the
different spectra?
o It is observe that the longer the wavelength, the lesser the
frequency. The higher the frequency, the shorter the wavelength.
 How is ENERGY related to FREQUENCY?
o Energy is related to frequency in the way that when the frequency
is decreasing, the energy is decreasing too.

 Which colors registers the highest frequency? Shortest wavelength?

o Violet has the highest frequency and also has the shortest
wavelength.
 Which colors registers the lowest frequency? Longest wavelength?
o Red has the lowest frequency and also has the longest wavelength.
 What do you observe with the wavelength and frequency of the different
colors?
o It is observed that the wavelength is longer, the frequency is lower.
 What did you observe with the wavelength and frequency for each color?
What is the significance of this value?
o The wavelength decreases from red to violet and the frequency
increases from red to violet.
 What can you say about the speed of the different colors of the light in
the air?
o In empty space, all colors travel at the same speed. Light of
different wavelengths, or colors travels at different speeds when
they travel through any medium other than vacuum.
 Give a plausible explanation as to why whit light separate into different
colors?
o White light separates into different colors by a phenomenon called
dispersion.
