Note: For multi language installation manual, please install Adobe Acrobat Reader from autorun after
inserting the CD into the CD ROM. Click “Browse” and open Installation Manual file where multi
language installation manuals are in.

Chapter 1 : DVB-S 300U Hardware Installation
1.1 Package Contents
Unpack your DVB-S 300U package and make sure that all items are intact. The following items should be
included in your package:
DVB-S 300U BOX
Remote control
Power adapter
USB cable
Converter cable
HyperMedia user manual
Installation manual
Installation CD

1.2 System Requirements

PC with Pentium-IV 1.6GHz or higher (recommended)
256MB RAM of system memory or above (recommended)
One available USB2.0 port
Graphics Card (Must support DirectX 9.0c)
Sound Card (AC97 compatible sound card)
1GB Free HD Space
CD-ROM Drive (For software installation)
Microsoft Windows ®XP(SP2)
Satellite dish & LNB

1.3 Hardware Installation

Please follow the steps shown below to connect DVB-S 300U BOX to your computer:

1. Connect the satellite into the INPUT connector

2. Connect the power adapter
3. Plug the USB cable into the DVB-S 300U BOX and the USB 2.0 port of your system

The DVB-S 300U card package comes with complete Windows software utilities. These utilities can be
found on the CD-ROM in this package. During installation, it is highly recommended to disable any
sub-programs. These include applications such as antivirus software and system monitoring applications.

1. When you finish the hardware setup and restart your

system. The “Found New Hardware Wizard” window will
pop up. Please click “Cancel” and you can make use of
DVB-S 300U Quick Installation for proper installation.

2. Insert the installation CD into the CD ROM device. The

autorun page will appear as the left image. Please choose
“Quick Installation”.

3. The Quick Installation provides you with two choices to

install. If you want to install device driver and software
utility completely, please choose “Typical Installation”.
or if you want to install them partially, please choose
“ Custom Installation”. Finally click “Install ” to
continue.

2.1 The Driver Installation of DVB-S 300U

4. Click “Start” to install the DVB-S 300U BDA driver.

Please wait, while the installation is in process.

 5. Now the driver has been installed successfully on your
computer and click “OK” to finish driver installation and
go to next step.

2.2 HyperMedia Application Installation

This step will instruct you to install HyperMedia Application. Please follow the steps below for installation.

6. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through

installation of HyperMedia application. Click “Next” to
continue.

7. Please choose the destination folder where you want to

install the files. You can click “Browse” to change the
destination folder. Finally click “Next” to go to next step.

8. Setup will add program icons to the Program Folder’s list.

You may type a new folder name, or select one from the
existing folders list. Click “Next” to start installing. Please
wait while installation in process.

 9. When the message as the one on the left image, click
“Finish” to end the installation.

2.3 The Remote Installation of DVB-S 300U

This step will instruct you to install the remote utilities of DVB-S 300U. Please follow the steps below for
installation.

10. The InstallShield Wizard will guide you through

installation of DVB-S 300U remote utilities. Click
“Next” to continue.

11. DVB-S 300U utilities have been installed. Please click

“ Finish”.

12. All the drivers have been installed successfully. Please

choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now” to
restart your computer (Recommend) and click “Finish”
to end the installation.

Chapter 3：DVB-S 300U Quick Uninstallation

1. If you want to uninstall device driver and software utility,

please click “Quick Uninstallation”.

Note: You can also take another way to uninstall device driver
and software utility, please refer to chapter 6 FAQ 3.

2. The Quick Uninstallation provides you with two choices

to uninstall. If you want to uninstall device driver and
software utility completely, please choose “Typical
Uninstallation”. or if you want to uninstall them partially,
please choose “ Custom Uninstallation”. Finally click
“Uninstall” to continue.

3.1 The Driver Uninstallation of DVB-S 300U

3. Click “OK” to uninstall the DVB-S 300U BDA driver.

Please wait, while the uninstallation is in process.

4. Now BDA driver has been removed successfully on your

operation system and click “OK” to go to next step.

3.2 HyperMedia Application Uninstallation

This step will instruct you to uninstall HyperMedia Application. Please follow the steps below for
uninstallation.

5. This step is to remove HyperMedia application. Please

click “OK” to execute.

 6. The UninstallShield Wizard will guide you through
unstallation of HyperMedia application and when the
message as the one on the left image, the HyperMedia
has been removed. Please click “Finish” to end.

3.3 The Remote Uninstallation of DVB-S 300U

This step will instruct you to uninstall the remote utilities of DVB-S 300U. Please follow the steps below for
uninstallation.

7. This message notices you again to make sure whether

you really want to remove utilities. Please click “Yes” to
execute removing.

8. The remote function has been successfully removed.

Please click “OK”.

9. All the drivers have been removed completely. Please

choose “Yes, I want to restart my computer now ” to
restart your computer (Recommend) and click “Finish”
to end the uninstallation.

Chapter 4: HyperMedia Software Functions
When using Hypermedia, There are some different functions to choose from. Picture below is an example of
how the interface looks like and a short description of each function.

• Input Source : STVR turns your PC into a full-featured video recorder.

• Extra AP：You can choice three kinds of function.

Convert Film : You can converts AVI files into MPEG format.

Edit Film : You can makes editing MPEG video files easy.

Burn DVD : You can creates VCD, SVCD and DVD that can be played on a
PC or DVD player.

Chapter 5 : FAQ
5.1 How to reset the TV system?
Ans : To re-set the TV system again, follow the pictorial guide below and choose “DVB-S 300U TVSetup”
to change system settings.

5.2 How to check if the drivers have been installed successfully or not?
Ans :Right click on “My Computer” on the desktop and choose “Properties”. Once in “Properties”
window, click on “Device Manager” in Hardware panel. Click on the plus icon of “Sound, video and
game controllers” to open the device list.

5.3 How to check if the Remote Control can work fine?

Ans : 1) You have to check if the “Remote Control” utility is installed or not. Please refer to Fig. 1
2) You have to check if the drivers have been installed or not. See FAQ-2.
3) You can check if the “Remote Control” tray icon is loaded in the right-bottom of task bar. See
Fig.2. below.

Chapter 6：Remote Control Functions

：Turns on/off the HyperMedia Program

Source：Switch Video Source(Antenna, Cable, Memory, Composite and S-Video).
Zoom：Switch between full screen and windowed viewing modes
Shut Down：Shut down the PC.
CH+/CH-: Switches to the next/previous channel.
VOL-/VOL+: Decrease/increase the volume.
Numeric Keypad: Keypad for channel selection.
：Switch to the previously selected channel.
：Enter input number
Rec：Record the current program
Stop：Stop the playback or recording of the current program.
Play：Play the recorded file.
Mute：Turn on/off the Audio.
：Goes to the beginning of the file
：Goes to the end of file
：Rewinds the current TimeShifting or recorded video
：Move forward the current TimeShifting or recorded video
Timeshifting (Red key)：Starts the TimeShifting of the current program
Sleep timer (Green key)：Set PC to turn off automatically after a predetermined period of time.
Snapshot (Yellow key)：Capture the on-screen mage to a file.
Preview (Blue key)：Multiple preview the TV program.
