ISO 9001
2 1
There are some subtle differences between ISO 9000 and ISO 9001. In a nutshell, ISO 9000
standards describe a Quality Management System. ISO 9001 is a document that describes all of
these requirements. Most companies will register to ISO 9001 and possess just one of the
essential components in the family of documents. In this case, ISO 9001 describes only the
requirements; whereas, ISO 9000 describes vocabulary, and ISO 9004 describes guidelines for
improvements. Here are other differences in the two standards that every company wants to
know to improve their processes.
