Abstract :
In the electricity distribution network system, the system must
be able to maintain the voltage level of each bus that is connected
directly to the consumer. To ensure the voltage levels in the distribution
system in normal conditions, then made standard so that the system is
running well. One is a American National Standards Institute (ANSI)
C84.1 say that differences in the distribution system voltage value
between -13% to 7% [1]. In practice, most power companies tried to
keep the tension was to be the difference in value of ± 5%. With these
problems, the use of capacitor banks to reduce energy losses and power
and increase the voltage level. Because the capacitor can compensate
reactive power so voltage levels may be at fair value. Use of Distributed
Generation (DG) is also used because it can reduce harmonics in the
system, improve power quality, improve system reliability, improved
voltage levels [2]. Both of these methods will be modeled by the method
of Genetic Algorithm (GA). With this method is expected to get the
location and DG optimal capacitor with a minimum value of voltage
deviation..
