In continuation to our meeting & conversation, we have come up with our research in Garhwa, Latehar & Daltonganj We
acknowledged that the availability of the product is very important to fulfill the demand and create the awareness in the
market, Also we have a lot more places where market can be penetrated and cashed.
Market Research:
There are almost 8 cement Manufacturers in the market of Garhwa, Latehar, Daltonganj some of them are ACC (A
Subsidiary of Ambuja Cements of Holcim), LAFARGE, BANGUR, JK CEMENT, JSW, EMAMI, ULTRATECH and PEENA. The
information about the market was gathered by visiting retailers in the market. Interview of retailers was taken
depending upon their accessibility.
Domestically, from c & f agents the cement is transported to the dealers/distributors and in turn to sub dealers who
finally sell it to the end users. There may or may not be physical ownership of goods. In the second case, dealers and sub
dealers take order from buyers and place it to the companies, co ordinate and monitor the timely dispatch of said
orders, transportation of goods and final delivery. Distributor network in cement industry is highly dominating and
companies are compelled to hire as they do not really have that rapport and touch with the end consumer of their
product. Apart, from this, the distributors have storage facilities as well which help control well in the entire supply
chain as they are the ones who bring orders and therefore are directly responsible for the business that a manufacturer
would do.
On studying the prices across 6 different districts of Maharashtra a slight variation in Prices were observed which can be
observed through the following table.
Companies does provide discount in case of bulk purchases. Discounting is not practiced in case of small quantities.

Ambuja Cement is sold as a premium brand in the local market. People regardless of their demographic characteristics
acknowledge its superior quality and brand image and they are loyal to the brand. It is also known to many of the
peoples by the name of Gujarat Ambuja Ltd. Because in cement industry, there are two things that affect the target
market, those are brand image and availability of the product. As the price of the cement products remains almost the
same with very minor difference , so the consumers are not segmented into sex , age , income group , occupation ,
education ,ethnic background and family life cycle etc . Consumers all over the country prefer the brand image and its
availability. Our product is used by every consumer who is brand loyal, who knows its strengths like high quality product
and strength.
