LIMITLESS E/1 VOCABULARY LIST

misdemeanor = doing something unacceptable (kusurlu davranış, kabahat)

scan = using technology to look inside someone’s body (tarama, MR tarzı)

temp(orary) = somebody working for a short/limited period of time (geçici eleman)

intuitive = feeling things within yourself, like sixth sense, spider-sense (sezgili olmak)

maven = someone with many talents (çok yetenekli kişi)

subway = fast transportation system on rails (metro)

ricochet = when a bullet bounces back from a surface (merminin sekmesi)

heritage = things passing down from ancestors (miras, kalıtım)

side arm = small armanant, usually on your sides (tabanca)

immaculate = perfect (kusursuz, hatasız)

fugitive = someone running away from the police kaçak

badge = an object to show your profession, usually police or army (rozet(polis için)

patch up = healing a wound, someone (tedavi etmek, onarmak)

bleed out = dying from blood loss (kan kaybından ölmek)

inevitable = something you can’t avoid, it will happen (kaçınılmaz)

liaison = secret contact, only person who knows your real identity (bağlantı / irtibat noktası)

immune: protected against a particular disease

He seems to be immune to colds - he just never gets them.

hypocrite: not sincere

He's a hypocrite - he's always lecturing other people on the environment but he doesn’t care about it
that much.

Stroke: A stroke is a brain attack, cutting off vital blood flow and oxygen to the brain

side effect: typically undesirable effect of a drug or medical treatment

Caugh is the only side effect of this treatment, it has no more disadvantages.

sceptical: Not easily convinced; having doubts or reservations.


Psychology is a field that many people become sceptical in.

Affiliation: the relationship between two companies that are officially connected to each other

I do not know the political affiliation of most of my colleagues.

Discovering you have a natural talent or aptitude for something feels good.

Wreckage: The remains of something that has been badly damaged or destroyed.

This piece of wreckage has been identified as a part of the front of the aircraft, extending to the right
wing.

Badge: A distinguishing object or emblem

Firefighters are identified by a badge that designates their company.

every nook and cranny: Every part or aspect of something.

Kids are exploring every nook and cranny, hoping to uncover those holiday presents.
