SPN 3563/FMI 20
This SPN is typically Ambient and Inlet Manifold Pressure Difference (low box).
1. Turn the ignition ON (key ON, engine OFF).
2. Compare inlet manifold pressure to barometric pressure.
3. Is the inlet manifold pressure within 0.5 psi of barometric pressure?
[a] Yes; go to step 4.
[b] No; replace the Inlet Manifold Pressure Sensor.

to the State of California to cause cancer, birth defects, and
other reproductive harm.
□ Always start and operate an engine in a well ventilated
area.
□ If operating an engine in an enclosed area, vent the
exhaust to the outside.
□ Do not modify or tamper with the exhaust system or
emission control system.

4. Start the engine.


5. At idle compare inlet manifold pressure to barometric pressure.
6. Is the inlet manifold pressure within 0.5 psi of barometric pressure?
[a] Yes; go to step 7.
[b] No; replace the Inlet Manifold Pressure Sensor.
7. Perform CAC inspection and leak test. Refer to OEM literature for procedure.
[a] If inspection and/or leak test fail, repair as necessary.
[b] If CAC inspection passes, obtain DDDL log file of failure and contact the Customer
Support Center at 313-592-5800 for further diagnostic assistance.
