written by James Dean
Peanut Allergy in our Classroom
Today’s Lesson:
 Begin by bringing students to the carpet
for story time. I will read the story, Pete
the Cat Wheels on the Bus to the students.
 After the story I will lead discussion about
what happened in the story.
 “We are going to talk about Bus safety.
Raise your hand if you ride the bus to
school. Great, you can help be my experts
on school bus safety!”
 I will show the video on bus safety from
the bus company on the smart board.
 After the video, students will discuss with
an elbow partner two rules that they
learned from that video.
 “Raise your hand if you would like to share
with us what you and your partner learned
about school bus safety.”
 “Those are great rules to have, don’t you
think? It is important to keep everyone
safe on the bus. We need to remember
these rules while we get on the bus, while
we are riding the bus, and when we get off
the bus. Remember if you have any
questions or problems on the bus, you can
ask an older student for help. If they can’t
answer your question, bring it to school
and I can help you or your parents.”
