DEAR STUDENTS AND FAMILIES
I have just been informed that our classroom has
been awarded a $10,000 grant through the
Department of Education! This grant will enable
our class to use a wide variety of software
programs that will enhance our learning and
prepare students for our standardized testing and
the real world. I am so excited to share with you
the programs we will be using on our class set
of iPads and our 5 iMacs.
These programs will allow our students to
meet the International Society for Technology
in Education standards. For more

WHY I CHOSE THIS SOFTWARE
I believe that technology in today’s classroom is
the basis of a well-rounded education for our
students. The skills they learn while using these
programs will help prepare them for standardized
testing as well as help them become skilled users
of technology they can apply in the real world
and allow them to explore their creativity
through music and video production.
NETS-S Standards Students Will
Achieve:
Students will be able to achieve the

2a, 2b, 2d, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, 4c, 4d, 5a, 5b,

StudySync will help students become more
critical thinkers through engaging texts and
writing prompts. Programs like Word and
PowerPoint will be accessible to students on the
classroom computers and will help students
improve their word processing skills and allow
them to create unique and informative
presentations. Both programs are crucial to
success in today’s world.
Programs like Logic Pro X and Final Cut Pro
will improve the creativity and skills of the
students in my 7th grade Music Technology
course by allowing them to work with the same
production tools that professionals use.
