What is CAT? Examination Subjects

The CAT is an internationally recognized accounting Candidates are required to complete 9 papers in total:
technician qualification offered by ACCA (UK).
Introductory (55% pass mark)
The CAT scheme is designed to equip candidates with all 1 Recording Financial Transactions
the necessary technical skills and knowledge required to
fulfill a support roll in accountancy. The CAT qualification 2 Information for Management Control
can be used as a first step into a career in accountancy or
to validate the skills and experience you have already
gained in employment. Intermediate (50% pass mark)
3 Maintaining Financial Records
It also provides a firm foundation of knowledge and the
opportunity to fast track towards becoming a professional 4 Accounting for Costs
ACCA Accountant.

Entry Requirements / Exemptions Advanced (40% pass mark)

5 Managing People and Systems
There are no formal academic qualifications necessary to
register. If you have no academic qualifications, you will 6 Drafting Financial Statements
be expected to complete all three levels of the Certified
7 Planning, Control and Performance Management
Accounting Technician examinations.

Holders of recognized qualifications may receive

exemptions from some of the papers.
Options (two to be completed)
You may claim exemption from the Introductory Level

exams, if you satisfy the one year's practical work
experience requirement and can verify this by completing 9 Preparing Taxation
your Technician Training Record (TTR), which will be sent

The Examination Process After you have Registered

• There is no time limit to complete the CAT
qualification.
• Students can qualify at their own pace.
• There are two examination sessions per year - one in
June and the other in December.
• There is no restriction to the number of exams you
may attempt, allowing you to choose to sit as many or
as few papers as you like at each exam session.
• You are, however, recommended to attempt a
maximum of four papers in each sitting.
• Students are expected to study each module –
Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced and Options –
in order.
As soon as your application has been processed
successfully (please allow up to 6 weeks), you will receive
your Student Information Pack, which contains all you
need to know about your partnership with ACCA,
including:
• Registration Card
• Student Handbook
• Detailed Syllabus
• Practical Experience Requirements
• Notification of any Exemptions Awarded
(ACCA/CAT)
• Details of your Personal Pass code for Access
to ACCA Online Facilities

Registration Deadline
Remember to submit your registration form along with the
necessary documentation by 31st December to sit your
first exam in June or 15th August to sit your first exams in
December of the following year. You can do this through
your local ACCA office or Tuition Provider – Make sure
you allow an extra two weeks if you are located outside
UK.

Commencement Dates & Venue

The CAT examination preparatory course starts on 11th July 2010 to prepare candidates for the respective examination
sessions. All classes are scheduled to be conducted at ExecuTrain Center with flexible timings for working
professionals. The expected completion date for all levels is schedule to end, November 2010.

Fee structure
Our fee for the professional course delivery will be QR 2250 per subject offered.(Includes
official text books and CBE Exams.

Refund Policy:
• ExcuTrain reserves the right to postpone or cancel the course due to any unforeseen circumstances.
• No refunds will be entertained on cancellations received after the commencement date.
