Greetings from The Akshaya Patra Foundation.

We are one of the world’s leading NGOs, working on a massive mission to build India’s
human resource base by facilitating the education of underprivileged children in
Government & Government-Aided schools through abundant school-meals - a proven
attraction for children to come to school. Currently we are serving 17 lakh children every
day from its network of 43 centralized kitchens across 12 states.

With Airport Authority of India’s support Akshaya Patra has become a voice that fight
vociferously against hunger. Both AAI and Akshaya Patra has taken up the task of
providing mid-day meal to 200000 children in and around 3 kitchens i.e. Mangalagiri,
Guwahati and Hazaribagh by setting up newMid Day Meal kitchens through Tripratiet
MOU with Akshayaa Patra, District Collector and Airport Authority of India . AAI is
helping Akshaya Patra in creating the state-of-the-art kitchens. These under Constuction
kitchens will be using technology to cook large amount of food in a short time and keep
costs low. These kitchens will be fully machanised kitchens using steam based cooking,
which is not only high efficient in cooking food in little time. but also helps vegitables to
retain their nutrients. The other processes like chopping vegitables, prepatring bread,
loading containers are mechnised increasing the speed of delivery of food and protecting
against condamination. Even the vehicles used for the trasportation of the cooked food to
the schools are custom designed to allow for optimal storage and minimal spilling.

With Airport Authority of India’s help students will get their nutritional needs. Mid Day
Meals act as an incentive for students to come to school and stay in school for longer
hours. This partnership will result in serving 4.64 Cr meals every year and help Akshaya
Patra advance in its mission to build India’s human resource base by enabling access to
nutrition & facilitating education of under-served children in government schools
through abundant, school-meals
