Tobacco Destroys

Did you know... ❏ The human health impacts of tobacco
use are well-documented. The World
Health Organization (WHO) estimates
that there will be more than 8 million
tobacco-related deaths a year by 2030,
amounting to 10% of annual deaths
worldwide.-Mathers CD, Loncar D
❏ Tobacco is a plant that grows natively
Tobaccos history in North and South America. It is in
the same family as the potato, pepper
and the poisonous nightshade, a very
deadly plant.
❏ On October 15, 1492, Christopher
Columbus was offered dried tobacco
leaves as a gift from the American
Indians that he encountered. Soon
after, sailors brought tobacco back to
Europe, and the plant was being
grown all over Europe.

should ban cigarettes ● Cause various cancers,

nicotine and needs a regular dose.

many serious environmental

biodiversity, soil erosion and
degradation, water pollution and
increases in atmospheric carbon
dioxide. These chemicals may affect
drinking water sources as a result of
run-off from tobacco growing areas.
Service learning ❏ For my SLE project i went to our
communities boys and girls club and
experience talked to the kids about why smoking
is bad not only for us but where we
live as well.I made sure they knew
that everyone doesn't have to because
a smoker. That they can start by
staying healthy and to keep tellin all
their parents that do smoke to at least
know what they are putting into
themselves.
❏ About 5 hours spent
setting a schedule and
presentations for the kids
at the boys and girls club. I
had to set appointment to
meet the manager of the
boys and girls club to talk
about my further plans
❏ I spend 5 hours
volunteering and playing
with the children the first
day 2:30-7:30
❏ The next week i came back
and volenterrend for 5 and
help with their already
made activities 2:30-7:30

Conclusion To conclude this
presentation the government
should really ban tobacco
because is is destroying
everything.
