Objectives (I can statements):
Students will be able to use simple food names and incorporate them into music notes with the melody and rhythm
while singing the food names.
Assessment (Formative, Summative):
Formative: For the assessment, we will observe their understanding of the music by singing the song with the foods
involved.
Introduction/Hook/Anticipatory Set/Activating Prior Knowledge: (Warm-up, review of previous day’s lesson, check for
understanding of previous knowledge, questions you will ask)
To start class we will tell the students that they will be learning how to put simple foods into a song! Then we will go
over what the ternary form is for just a reminder.

Steps in the lesson:

I Do: First, we will go over how our song fits into the Ternary form. We will go line from line while mentioning how it
follows the ABA format and singing the song.

We Do: We will then ask the students to follow along with us line by line while singing.

You Do: After the students feel confident, we will split the students in their groups and have them each do a line
singing the food song.

Closure/Wrap up: This may be in the form of independent practice, a chance to share, or explicit restatement of the goals of the lesson.

The closure will be the students singing the whole song and congratulating them for singing a song with just food
involved.

Extension Activities:
Some extension activities include;
Having the children get into groups and sing part of the song.
Accommodation /Modification:
Specific Student/Group:
We will have the words and music sheet on the projector so students that are hearing impaired can still follow along.

Differentiation:

What will I differentiate? Content Process Product Environment

Explain:
Going line by line singing the song while using the document camera and following along with one of our fingers.

How will I differentiate? For readiness By interest Learning profiles Ability level Affect
Explain:
We will differentiate for ability level by pairing higher level students with lower level students.
Diversity:
This will take place by showing the different kinds of food that we involved in our song.

Technology:
Using the document camera to project the music sheet full of foods.
