Impact of a Musical Instrument

Can you live without music? Do you think people like musicians are cool? Playing an instrument of
any sort, useful?
If you answered yes to any of those questions then you are in luck because I am here to

enlighten you about the beauty of being involved in music and playing an instrument. Playing an

instrument for me means the whole world to me and it has gotten me more involved in everyday

life and culture. It has even gotten more through tough times, when I felt at my lowest in my life.

Music has gotten me out of a lot of things.

When you start playing an instrument, you want to be able to connect with the music.

First, you want to be able to visualize what kind of instrument you would want to play and

research the necessary means of how to obtain this instrument; whether it be through a friend, a

music store, online, and/or etc. My recommendation would be through the music store because

the people there can give you input on what you are searching for.

Next step, how are you going to learn to play this instrument? Well... there are many

ways. Thanks to the advancement of technology, you can now learn through the internet like

online videos, and even video chat with an instructor of the instrument of your choice. There are

also in-person face-to-face music lessons in places like music stores, and places around your

area. Personally, I chose a teacher and had face-to-face lesson because there is something about

being able to connect with a person and the passion they have for music, and this can motivate

you to commit more to the instrument of your choice.

Finally, you have gotten your instrument and the way you are going to learn this

instrument. Now you are ready and have gotten everything you need now. WRONG!!! This is

just the beginning of your musical journey and you have barely touched the surface. You have to

commit to your instrument and music by means of practicing how to play this instrument. Like

the saying of “Practice makes perfect” is true to an extent but it also goes beyond from

practicing. This music journey, will be fun and you will be frustrated at some point in learning

this instrument and furthering along your musical skill with that instrument.

This continuation of your music journey will be worthwhile. For my musical journey, I

was grateful enough to be able to learn a musical instrument at a young age and it has made me

who I am, today! Even though I have had my own ups and downs with my musical instrument. I

still resort back to the times where I remember the impact the musical instrument had in my life.

Sometimes, when you further your musical skills and you just do not want to learn anymore; DO

NOT GIVE UP! You need to be able to stick it through and trust me when I say playing a

musical instrument is definitely worth it. It will help broaden your perspective on music and even

life in general.
