Materials
 Yarn/wool: I have used Catania yarn from Schachenmayr in grey (0199 – 2 x
50g), white (0106 < 50g), dark grey (0393 < 50g) and pink (0246 – 50g) color.
For the acorn auburn (0188 < 50g) and brown (0254 < 50g) color.
 Crochet hook: 3.0 mm
 Tapestry needle
 Filling
 Scissors
 Two 8 mm black safety eyes
 Optional: pebble (diagonal: 3 cm) to make Wilbur’s bottom heavier

Abbreviations
St(s) - stitch(es)

Important Notes
 All rounds are worked in a continuous spiral (except Wilbur’s bristles and eyelids).
Do not join or turn, unless instructed otherwise
 You may find it useful to use a stitchmarker for counting your rounds
 Take your time to create your amigurumi’s face, it is a very important part of the
final result
 While stuffing take care to give each part a nice shape
 Using invisible decrease instead of decrease makes the final result nicer

Size of finished figure


Using the given yarn and hook size the size of Wilbur will be 14 cm by 20 cm.

Start stuffing and keep on stuffing while crocheting. Take care to give it a nice shape!
Insert a pebble into Wilbur’s bottom in order to stabilize the ready figure.

FO. Close the hole by leading the thread through the front loops of last round, pull it tight
and weave the yarn tail into the body.
Form the head with 1 big stitch with grey yarn. For the exact place and position see the
pictures below (it is made in the 26th grey round with 21 stitches distance). Pull the yarn
tight, make a knot and hide the yarn tail in the head.

With pink yarn embroider the nostrils. One nostril is formed by 1 big stitch from one end
of the starting chain on the nose to the point where the big stitch was made on the head. For
the exact place and position see the pictures below. Pull the yarn tight, make a knot on the
head to fix the nostril and hide the yarn tail in the head. Create the 2nd nostril similarly.

Eyes

Eyeballs with white yarn (make 2):

Round 1. ch 4 (4)
Round 2. sc in second ch from hook, sc, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on the other
side of beginning ch: sc, 2 sc into the last ch

Round 3. inc, sc, 3 inc, sc, 2 inc (14)

FO. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing it to the head.

Eyelids with golden grey yarn (make 2):

Eyelids are crocheted in rows.

Row 4.3 dec, slst, DO NOT TURN!

Slst around. FO. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing it to the head.

Insert the black safety eyes into the eyeball (see pictures above). With invisible stitches sew
the eyes to the head. For the exact place see the pictures below. Stuff the eyes softly with a
small amount of filling while sewing. Sew the eyelids onto the eyeballs.

Trotters

With dark grey and later on grey yarn (make 4):


Start the trotter with dark grey yarn (make 2):

Round 1. 3 sc in double adjustable ring (3)


Round 2. inc* (6)
Round 3. sc* (6)
Repeat 2 times until you have 2 toes. Fasten off and weave in the yarn end on the first toe.
Do not fasten off on the second one. Crochet the 2 toes to each other with 1 sc (see picture
above) and go on:
Round 4. 5 sc in next 5 stitches of first toe, 5 sc in next 5 stitches of second toe (10)
With grey yarn:
Round 5. sc* in back loops (10)

Tusks

With white yarn (make 2):

FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew the tusks into the mouth. See
the exact place and position on the pictures below.

With grey yarn and invisible stitches sew the two sides of the mouth to the head to prevent
it from opening too wide. Your stitches should go through the tusks as well, in order to fix
their position.

Bristles

With dark grey yarn:

Bristles are crocheted in rows.

Row 1. ch 11 (11)
Row 2.10 ls, ch1, turn (10)
Row 3.10 sc, ch 8, turn (18)

FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew it to the head and back. See the

Cut the bristles to a length of 1,5 cm.
