Materials
Yarn/wool: I have used Catania yarn from Schachenmayr in grey (0199 – 2 x
50g), white (0106 < 50g), dark grey (0393 < 50g) and pink (0246 – 50g) color.
For the acorn auburn (0188 < 50g) and brown (0254 < 50g) color.
Crochet hook: 3.0 mm
Tapestry needle
Filling
Scissors
Two 8 mm black safety eyes
Optional: pebble (diagonal: 3 cm) to make Wilbur’s bottom heavier
Abbreviations
St(s) - stitch(es)
Ch - chain
Sc - single crochet
Slst - slip stitch
ls - loop stitch
Inc - increase (2 sc in next st)
Dec - decrease (2 sc worked off together)
(nr) - indicates the total number of stitches in the current row/round
()* - repeat the instruction stated in parenthesis all around
()2-times - repeat the instruction stated in parenthesis twice
()3-times - repeat the instruction stated in parenthesis 3-times
FO - fasten off
Important Notes
All rounds are worked in a continuous spiral (except Wilbur’s bristles and eyelids).
Do not join or turn, unless instructed otherwise
You may find it useful to use a stitchmarker for counting your rounds
Take your time to create your amigurumi’s face, it is a very important part of the
final result
While stuffing take care to give each part a nice shape
Using invisible decrease instead of decrease makes the final result nicer

Head and body
Round 1. ch 6 (6)
Round 2. sc in second ch from hook, sc, 3 sc in next ch, sc, 3 sc in last ch.
Continue on the other side of beginning ch: 3 sc, 2 sc into the last
ch (you made the first sc into this ch) (14)
Round 3. 3 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 3 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 5 sc, 3 sc in last
stitch (20)
Round 4. 4 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 5 sc, 3 sc in next stitch, 7 sc, 3 sc in next
stitch, sc (26)
In next round mouth and head will be crocheted together. Please keep the mouth at hand
and fold it in half. Align the mouth with the head (on top of each other). The starting
point on the mouth will be the 14th stitch after the finishing stitch (see first picture below).

Round 22. 31 sc, take the mouth, insert hook through mouth and head stitches as you
see on the pictures above: 14 sc, work again into the head stitches: 3 sc (48)
Round 23. 7 sc, (2 sc, inc) 4-times, 12 sc, insert hook through the remaining stitches

Start stuffing and keep on stuffing while crocheting. Take care to give it a nice shape!
Insert a pebble into Wilbur’s bottom in order to stabilize the ready figure.
With pink yarn embroider the nostrils. One nostril is formed by 1 big stitch from one end
of the starting chain on the nose to the point where the big stitch was made on the head. For
the exact place and position see the pictures below. Pull the yarn tight, make a knot on the
head to fix the nostril and hide the yarn tail in the head. Create the 2nd nostril similarly.

Eyes
Round 1. ch 4 (4)
Round 2. sc in second ch from hook, sc, 3 sc in last ch. Continue on the other
side of beginning ch: sc, 2 sc into the last ch

Round 3. inc, sc, 3 inc, sc, 2 inc (14)
Round 4. (sc, inc), sc, (sc, inc) 3-times, sc, (sc, inc) 2-times (20)

Slst around. FO. Leave a long yarn tail for sewing it to the head.
Insert the black safety eyes into the eyeball (see pictures above). With invisible stitches sew
the eyes to the head. For the exact place see the pictures below. Stuff the eyes softly with a
small amount of filling while sewing. Sew the eyelids onto the eyeballs.

Ears
FO; leave a long yarn tail. Flatten the ears (see picture above) and with invisible stitches
sew them to the head. See pictures below for the exact place.

Tusks
FO. Leave a long yarn tail and with invisible stitches sew the tusks into the mouth. See
the exact place and position on the pictures below.
With grey yarn and invisible stitches sew the two sides of the mouth to the head to prevent
it from opening too wide. Your stitches should go through the tusks as well, in order to fix
their position.

FO. Leave a long yarn tail and sew it to the end of Wilbur’s tail.

FO. Close the hole by leading the thread through the front loops of last round, pull it tight
and weave the yarn tail into the acorn.
