Trainee: Maryam Nabeel Topic or Theme: Two-Digit Addition and Subtraction

Class: 1A Date & Duration: 7th March 2019 – from 8:00 to 8:40 (40m)

Trainee Personal Goals:

My personal goal is to be more aware of time in the class, and to finish my work in the lesson time.

Second goal is to focus in how to let the student do something after they done their independent work.

Lesson Focus:

Use model to add.

Lesson Outcomes:

At the end of this lesson students will be able to use concrete models to add ones or tens to two-digit
number.

Student already know how to count and add use addition and subtraction within 20 to solve word
problems and how to add, subtract tens.

Differentiation activities (Support): low level

 The first level will take a worksheet that include the ten-blocks picture and they should to
count the ten-ones-blocks and add them up to find the sum.
 The student can ask for help if the face any problem while they are solving.

Each worksheet will include a letter, the low-level worksheet will include
letter (L) that’s mean when they finish the worksheet they will play the game
which this game is puzzle, student will get different pictures ones, tense
blocks and number they should to match the number with the picture.

Differentiation activities (Stretch): high level

 High level student will get advance questions which are they adding but without any drawing
or picture of ten-blocks.
 Student should answer using their own way of adding and draw it in
the worksheet.

When the student will finish working, they will play a game according to the
letter that are in their paper the letter will be (B), which this game includes a
spinner without numbers, student will write any number they want and after
that, they start to spin the wheel and the number that’s get out they write it in
the said, and spin the wheel again and add the numbers that comes out to find
the answer, and so on.
Differentiation activities (Support) medium level:

 This group will get the same worksheet of the high-level student.
 But the different that the student will use ten-ones- blocks and they can
use the plate strategy as the last lesson, the worksheet will include letter
(O).
 Plate-stagey: in the previous lesson, I give the student plates and tens,
ones blocks, the plate are split into 3 sections, student should to expand
each number using the blocks and then add them to figure out
the sum.
 After they finish they will play a game student will have a
hundred chart and question this game will help the student to
make connection between the last lesson and todays lesson,
how we add in different way.
