Planning for theoretical Problems

When researching and planning I
feel like I could face a number of
problems some of these could
include,
 finding the topics that I need  Speak to my teachers and my

topics my idea may include
and what I should research

 Finding websites with the right  Spending time at home

the information that I need for
each topic

 Managing my time right in  Creating a planning

order to try and stay on top of production schedule so that I
my work can keep myself organised so
I don’t fall behind

 Spending too much time in  Make sure that a few days or

want to shoot) make a rough copy of both so
that I can brainstorm ideas in
order to not be behind on the

them to work group chats and
family etc in order to gain as many
results as possible.

I think I can also run into a number of
problems when filming and editing,
some of these could be;

Mid Project check-up (After Research and planning)

After finishing the planning and research section of the production I
discovered that the problems that I predicted to face where very similar to
what I actually had to deal with, for example I came across the problem of
finding that right websites to work off but I overcame this by speaking to my
teachers for their advice on what I should be looking into and why it would
help me. This led me to finding the right topics that I needed to research
into that were relevant to my production. I also faced the problem of
gaining enough results from my surveys for the primary research section, I
struggled in this part as not many people that I sent it out to actually did it, I
overcame this problem by posting the link to my survey on my Instagram
account where I gained more than enough responses due to the number
of followers that I had at the time. I also feel like I spent a little too long on
the storyboard and script section as I dint really know what I wanted but
this was overcome by speaking to my peers and teachers for shot ideas
that could bring my production together I also gained constructive
feedback for this part by carrying out a focus group where eight of my
peers spoke about how I could improve my idea as a whole.

End of project review

After completing the project as a whole I found that I encountered a lot of

problems that I already previously predicted but I think my production
worked well as I found ways to overcome these problems by working with
what I had and filming to the best of my ability. I think the biggest problem
that I faced throughout the whole process was finding the right actors.
There came a point in the filming process where I was meant to go up to
London with the people that I planned to , it then started raining and a
couple of them dropped out for reasons that I wasn’t aware of. This left me
in a bad position as I it already wasn’t going as planned. Then after this my
planned main character broke his leg in three places whilst skating the day
before which meant that yet again I didn’t have an actor. I overcame this
major problem by asking around in Wycombe for people to come with me
and for myself to step in and play the role of the main character which was
annoying as I had shot ideas in my head but couldn’t portray them as I had
to get random people to film for me or just by setting up a tripod at a
location. I feel like I overcame all the issues that I faced well and with
confidence in my production as I am still very proud of what I’ve produced
given everything that went wrong, it is by far the piece of work that I am
most proud of throughout my school life. Another issue that I faced and
overcome was that some of the clips that I shot were slightly out of focus
but I researched into how I could fix a problem like this as I didn’t have the
time to go back to London to re shoot a couple shots. Due to the fact that
my production is already quite gritty and raw I found that I could add grain

effects to the out of focus shots and possibly make them black and white in
order to cover up the fact that they’re out of focus by keeping the same
style of the shots before it, the grittiness of my production works really well
and suits the shots because of the locations that I used and the way that I
filmed shots with the gimble. The topics of the video also suit the way that I
filmed it as it looks life It could be a home video that’s relatable to a large
audience.
