• Greek “Ethos” = “characteristic way of acting”, “habit”, or


“custom”
• Latin “mos” “mores” = moral or morality
• Ethics studies the characteristics behavior of a man as
endowed with reason and freewill.
• “a science of the morality of human acts.”
