‘Check the tensioner and inspect the drive
bolt for deterioration, Make sure water pump
joner pulley, fan hub and alternator turn
footy
Check for paintiil or other material on
ulleys.
‘Check the tension of accessory drive bells.

procedures, Make sure the accessories turn
reely.
Intake Air or Exhaust Leaks
Refer to troubleshooting logic for
Excessive Exhaust Smoke
‘Adjust valves. Make sure the push rods are
riot bent or the rocker levers are not
severely worn. Refer to Procedure 7-04.
‘Check turbocharger impeller and turbine
wheel for housing contact. Refer to

Power Function Knock
Visually inspect and measure gear
backlash. Replace gears as required.
