I am currently a second-year math teacher at Troy High School in Fullerton. I oversee two Algebra Foundation 2 courses and three
Algebra 1 courses. My time as a substitute within the district has helped me develop my teaching skills and practices, which I now
implement in my classroom.

Substitute teaching has given me the opportunity to acquire additional experience in the classroom setting. I can put into practice
all I have learned from the theory courses at Cal State Fullerton and from my time student teaching at Sonora High School. I have

substitute assignments.

I am assigned to tutor various students who are struggling with the fundamentals of mathematics. The tutoring sessions are one-
on-one, so it is a more personal approach of teaching. Each student has th eir own individualized program designed specifically to

I was responsible for three Algebra 1 courses comprised mainly of students with special needs. The exposure to these students
gave me suff icient knowledge on how to accommodate lessons and classroom activities for them . I also made myself available and
approachable for the students and parents anytime there were any questions or concerns. I was fortunate enough to work
alongside amazing educators who gave me advice and treated me as an important member of the mathematics department.
