Social Ranking

Summary:

Our social ranking system allows our citizens to view their Social rank, determined by a variety

of factors which has been completely determined by our proprietary AI. We have used crowd

sourced ideas on what makes up a good person and fed that data into a model of what makes

up an ideal person. It then judges every citizen against that and makes a prediction of their

relative rank.

Ranking methods:

Our social ranking system relies heavily on citizens social media but also through surveillance

systems such as cameras and microphones located in devices such as ​d d w​ which

the manufacturers have given us direct access to. Given this access we can then rank people

based on their current opinions, who they talk to and even family members conversations about

them. Through this we can properly gauge both what they make public and the thoughts they

keep private or what family and friends think about them. The AI processes this information and

using its built in model immediately gives a rank based on all the inputs provided. This has

worked so well that we have found many members in government that could not be trusted to

lead the nation. They have been sent for reprocessing.

Ranking Benefits:

Those in the country who have high social ranking get exclusive benefits. These include but are

not limited to, better schooling, food, transport and other things. Those who attain this status

lead a privileged life for being able to be such good citizens who truly love the nation they live in.
Those who are not so privileged are given reduced access to limited resources such as

electricity which is rationed out in terms of hours. Alongside this all verified employers can see

the rank of the hiree and use this in their decision making process.

Reprocessing:

Those in the bottom 10 percent will be sent for reprocessing. This entails reeducation along with

labor that nobody else wants to do. Much of this work consists of mining and other forms of

mechanical labor. As these individuals cannot find work otherwise they are not paid for their

labor but instead their social score slowly increases for every hour of work. This means that after

enough time their social “debt” will be paid off and they are free to go and live a life in which they

can now work.

Protest:

There has been some protest about the social ranking system but because that is unacceptable

behavior the social ranking of the protestors dramatically falls. They then have no way to speak

out against the government and are contained. The system is working as intended as it has

found those who do not act in the interests of the state.
