Explain: The students were well-behaved and motivated. They were on task working on their
class work. It can be observed easily that they were learning successfully this not difficult but
unfamiliar content.

Explain: He gave his lecture for about 15 minutes. It was perfectly fine(neither less nor
much).He was using socrative questioning during and after his lecture. He also visualized some
of the questions on the coordinate system.

Explain: He mainly used his computer to show the questions on the board using projector. He
was using white board to work on the questions while the students were copying down what he
was doing on the white board.

Explain: It was a whole group instruction. While the students were working on their classwork,
he was walking around to help the kids with their questions. It was the individual approach.

Explain: They started working on a worksheet after his lecture. When the classwork was given,
some students were discussing the questions among each other.

Explain: He was ready for his class. He was using positive reinforcement most of the time. It
was something I liked a lot. The students were comfortable and they had no issue with the
teacher. He was well planned so he used his time effectively. The students knew what was
expected from them.

OVERALL COMMENTS AND REFLECTIONS:

It was a very different experience for me. I am also a full time teacher myself. But for this entire period of
observation I tried to think like a student.

He had a nice interaction with the class. He was comfortable, making jokes and he knew what he was
doing. He used his time effectively so that there was no time missing from the valuable instructional time.
He was all over the place and he was controlling the class effectively.

He was a successful teacher certainly but we have to keep in mind that he was so lucky to have this kind
of students. I don’t have this kind of students myself for example. They don’t show enough interest and
they are easily off task.

Overall I was happy with my experience. I will try to apply some of his techniques in my classes as well.
