The discussion about typhoons happened last March 30, 2019. When the

proponents arrived at the school, the first thing they did was to find another room

for them to continue the lecture for the participants, because the teacher that

allow them to use a classroom is not available. The lecture started with a short

exercise and the participant seemed to enjoy it. Ms Eimerren Balmes start the

discussion about classification and intensities of typhoons. After while Ms

Ronella Lacsamana discussed the different typhoon that has been experienced

in the Philippines. She asked the participants about the strongest typhoon and its

impact on the country and its people. The next presenter is Ms. Kzimhel Manalo

who discussed the Mechanism of Tropical Cyclone Formation. This is about how

a typhoon will be form from warm ocean water and moist air over the ocean rises

upward from near surface. Lastly, Ms. Jennie Rose Sanggalang discussed the

impact and effect of typhoon in the place it affected

After the discussion other members of team AKSYON conducted games

related on the topics that were discussed by the presenter. The mechanics of the

first game is listing the objects or things that should be kept in case there’s a

typhoon. The second group gave the most listed things that made them the
winner on the activity. The second game was conducted by partners, and it is

called whisper challenge. It allows the participants to listen on loud music through

the earphones and guess the words that were whispered by the partner. The first

round comes tied so there is an another round to break it, and apparently two

girls won this game. The last game is like the boat is sinking but with a twist,

instead of saying the number it will be about house, typhoon or person. The

person means one person, house means it needs two persons, and typhoon

means it needs three or more persons depending on what the facilitator said, the

two people will form roof like using their hands and between them is another

person. The game went smoothly and the participants were able to state the

significance of acquiring knowledge about natural disaster such as typhoon.
