Chapter 5: DATA ANALYSIS

1. INTRODUCTION

In this section the most critical and likely most huge findings would be attempted. After
the gathering of information in the last section, those qualities will be utilized to make and
watch the arrangement and parameters of traffic volume. Notwithstanding that
characteristic importance from the information investigation would be delineated
altogether for each section.

4. DIRECTIONAL DISTRIBUTION

DETERMINATION
Here the eqn. 1 and eqn. 2 would be used to determine the DDF from West and East.
Volume of West to East for 3 hrs. can be found from Table 10.

𝑉𝑠 5872
DDFs=𝑉𝑠+𝑛 =5872+6220=0.49

𝑉𝑛 6220

5.PEAK HOUR FLOW

DETERMINATION
From the Table 4, Table 5 and Table 6 Peak Hour Flow Could be determined.

Peak Hour flow for South to North Direction = 3602.5 pcu/hr (at 12.00 − 1.00 pm)
Peak Hour flow for North to Sorth Direction = 3551 pcu/hr (at 1.00 − 2.00 pm)

Using eqn. 6 Peak Hour Factor PHF can be evaluated using Table 7:

2𝑋(233+351+193+157+248+223)
PHF S to N = = 0.9042
4𝑋(233+351+193)

2𝑋(165+341+292+385+255+338)
PHF N to S = =1.113
4𝑋(165+341+292)

AADT
DETERMINATION

Using eqn. 3, eqn. 4 and eqn. 5 the AADT of the particular road for the whole width
could be determined. HEF, DEF and MEF are taken from Table 1, Table 2 and Table
3 respectively.

Hour Volume

12.00 - 1.00 p.m. 5732

1.00 - 2.00 p.m. 5827

Total 24 hr. volume = HEF * vol. for particular hr.

5732𝑋18.71+5827𝑋16.71
Total 24 hr. vol.= =102307
2

average total weekly vol. = DEF ∗ avg. vol. for

particular day average 24 − hr. vol. = 6.582 ∗

102307/7 =96198

AADT = MEF ∗ ADT for particular month

AADT = 1.976 ∗ 96198 = 190087
