Mountain Eagle Karate Academy promotes students based on the following criteria:

1) Attitude
2) Attendance
3) Effort
4) Ultimate Focus and Good Manners
5) Requirements for each rank

Setting goals will be an important part of your development. Setting goals is a technique
successful people use to ensure they are consistently developing in a positive direction.

1) Visualize what you wish to accomplish and write it down. Remember to make it realistic, but
don’t be afraid to reach for the stars. This is your long term goal.

2) Decide on how much time you think it will take to accomplish your goal. Remember, be
realistic and patient, after all much of the fun lies on the road to your goals, so enjoy the
journey.

3) Breakdown into steps all the things that you must do during this time to succeed. Write
these down as shorter term goals you wish to accomplish that define your path that will lead
you to your long term goal. This will ensure you are always on course toward your ultimate
goals.

4) Be flexible and be prepared to adjust your goals, long term and short term, on the way and
always have new goals ahead of you, this makes seeking accomplishments fun and interesting,
as well as rewarding.

5) The road to all your future goals should be as rewarding as the meeting the goal at the end of
the road, so enjoy the journey.

6) Always persevere when obstacles get in your path and you will overcome them.

7) Use the goal setting you apply in karate to other things such as school and work.
