OBJECTIVE:
Increase awareness about the importance of ensuring sustanainable sanitation for all and
prompt appropriate action.
To advocates for an equity-based approach that focuses on the poorest and most marginalized
populations.
Keep sanitation at the center of development discussions at local and national levels.
Promote informed debate and decision-making about the funding, implementation and
monitoring of sustainable sanitation programmes.
To provide an integrated set of programs and divisions for a comprehensive, sustained and
continuous, management of endemic and epidemic illness and conditions through health
promotion and education, disease control, case management and rehabilitation of the affected
individuals and communities.
INTRODUCTION:
According to World Health Organization(WHO), Environmental Sanitation is the promotion of
hygiene, the prevention of disease and other consequences of ill-health, relating to
environmental factors.
ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS:
These are environmental factors which inpact on the infectious agents and transmission of
disease.
Disposal of human excreta
Sewage
Household waste and othe waste likely to contain infectious agents
Water drainage
Water supply
Housing
SANITATION PRACTICES:
These are various hygienic practices of the communities, basic knowledge, skills and human
behaviours as well as social and cultural factors concerning health, life-style and
environmental awareness.
Personal hygiene (washing, dressing, eating)
Household cleanliness (kitchen, bathroom cleanliness)
Community cleanliness (waste collection, waste segregation)

NARRATIVE REPORT:
The third year BS Midwifery of Kalinga State University affiliated at RHU-Tinglayan conducted
their community outreach program and Health Education on Environmental Sanitation at
Barangay Upper Bangad, Tinglayan, Kalinga last December 12, 2018 with the Barangay Health
Workers as the participants.
Assembly and Registration of participants started at 8:00 am.Prayer is led by Ms. Jocelyn Saggot,
one of the JOb Order of Tinglayan. Guests, lecturers and participants were welcomed by Ms. Kris
Bananao, Tinglayan job orders. It was formally opened by Ms. Amy Pawac, the Rural Health
Midwife of Upper Bangad. An spiritual message was the given by Ms. Vanessa Guyang.
