As f 1ow d e l iv e r y is r e d u c e d and t h e maxi mum in 1 e ' t


throttle range i s reached, the co~npr.e.ssor
a p p r o a c h e s i t s s u r g e p o i n t . Any f u r t h e r r e d a c t i o n
i n c o m p r e s s o r c a p a c i t y w o u l d cause t h e u n i t t o
become u n s t a b l e and o p e r - a t e w i t t i . i r 1 t h i s s u r g p
r e g i o n . To p r e v e n t t h e cornpr-essor f ronl ope r a t irlg
