1. DHW heating with Vitotrans 353 freshwater module, type PZS/PZM for cylinder mount-
ing and heating water buffer cylinder
1
The freshwater module provides DHW heating when hot water is
drawn or during DHW circulation. Control unit qQ controls the DHW
heating according to demand via combined DHW temperature and
flow control.
The DHW is heated in freshwater module qP according to the instan-
taneous water heater principle. An internal pump transfers the heating
water from heating water buffer cylinder 1 into freshwater module
qP. The heat exchanger in freshwater module qP heats the DHW
according to the countercurrent principle.
In freshwater modules for cylinder mounting, the DHW circulation
ID: 4611317_1404_01 pump and the return distribution set are installed at the factory.

Note

6. DHW heating in 4-module cascade, comprising Vitotrans 353 freshwater modules, type
PBM/PBL for wall mounting and heating water buffer cylinder

The cascade of freshwater modules provides DHW heating when hot

water is drawn or during DHW circulation. Master control unit qQ con-
trols the DHW heating according to demand via combined DHW tem-
perature and flow control.
Subject to demand, 1 to 4 freshwater modules can be connected in
parallel.
DHW is heated in freshwater modules qP / wP / eP / rP according to
the instantaneous water heater principle. An internal pump transfers
the heating water from heating water buffer cylinder 1 into freshwater
modules qP / wP / eP / rP. The heat exchangers in freshwater modules
ID: 4611312_1404_01 qP / wP / eP / rP heat the DHW according to the countercurrent prin-
ciple. Control is provided by control unit qQ of freshwater module qP,
defined as the master control unit.
Application In DHW systems with DHW circulation pump qW, the return manifold
Residential, sports and industrial buildings with corresponding DHW set can be used as 3-way diverter valve qE for optimised stratification
demand, e.g. apartment buildings, hotels, sports facilities, care homes, of the return water into heating water buffer cylinder 1.
etc.

Function description

DHW heating
The cascade of freshwater modules is supplied with energy by the
heating water buffer cylinder. This is heated by heat source 2.
