In my last article, Christians, Churches And Tithes Are Not Nigeria's Underdevelopment Problems .

https://www.nairaland.com/4611907/christians-churches-tithes-not-nigerias I promised to write on how

churches and christians can help accelerate socio-economic development of Nigeria. Yea, the strength of
the churches in Nigeria is massive because of the financial strength they possess as this can be
harnessed to help more in nation building.

Agriculture : Agriculture is a major sector that the church needs to invest massively to help achieve rapid
development. If each mega church can invest a minimum of 20 million naira into cattle ranching in
almost all the geopolitical zone in Nigeria, there will be abundant meat for local consumption and
export.

The terrorism perpetuated by Fulani herdsmen against the farmers and Christians would be a thing of
the past as the evil monopoly of beef production will been broken when there is massive investment in
modern cattle rearing. Other sources of animal protein should also be explored to create varieties.

I believe that if the church can invest thirty percent of her investment in university education and TV
broadcast alone on cultivation of rice, palm oil, and other staple food items, the number of unemployed
in the churches will also reduce greatly.

I believe the church should learn much from a Nigerian called Rev Father Nzamujo, Songhai Farms,
www.songhaifarms.org , Port Novo. He left his comfort zone in the US to start a multi-disciplinary farm in
Port Novo after he was rejected in Nigeria. He succeeded at winning souls for Christ as well as meeting
the physical needs of people.

Library : Library provision is another major aspect the church can help Nigeria achieve rapid
transformation. Ben Carson, Thomas Edison and many other Americans achieved greatness because they
made use of public libraries. For a nation to develop, I believe students should be more familiar with the
libraries than the political parties and entertainers.

Technology hubs: Menlo Park, USA, was the world's first privately owned research and development
lab/workshop, established by Thomas Edison. Several products were developed there while Henry Ford
later developed his first car from this same workshop. After then, several other people and organisations
have built their own research and development centres.

I have seen and read several prototype inventions made by Nigerians which could not be developed into
commercial products. So many ended up on the shelves while some were lucky to be developed abroad.
It would be a great thing if the church can invest in creating few technology hubs in Nigeria to help
commercialise technology prototypes, probably in association to the universities they have.

Installation of solar power facilities are have been discovered to be a potent solution to the problem of
power supply in Nigeria. Unfortunately, solar power facilities are very expensive, but I believe if the
church can use her technology hub to invest in the manufacture of this product in large quantities, there
will be cheap source of power supply for all.
Impact Makers : The most effective way the church can make tremendous impact in our society is to
produce impact makers like Joseph, Daniel, Esther and Nehemiah. The political and economic situation in
Nigeria is terrible because it is filled with visionless and greedy people as a result of the absence of
impact makers. We need more of the former NAFDAC DG, late Dora Akunyili who will courageously take
their Jesus to workplaces and make generational impact.

Note to Christians: Christians must understand that their major duty is not just about evangelism and
running other church programmes, but must learn to provide for the needs of the worshippers as well. In
Act 6: 1-7, the apostles made provisions to meet the needs of the disciples. In Act 4:34-37, disciples sold
their properties and the funds were used for evangelism and welfare of their worshippers. Thank God
they sold their properties because persecution later dispersed them.

Today, Nigerian Christians do not necessarily need to sell their properties for social services because
there is no persecution to disperse anylonger, but to engage in ventures that will be used to better the
conditions of living. Christianity is not a state religion in Nigeria so this is the reason why total
dependence on the government is dangerous. It must be understood that making economic impact in
the society makes Christianity more acceptable.

Finally , It is so unfortunate that Nigeria is now known to be the world's capital of poor people. Blame
game produces no development. Poverty, unemployment and underdevelopment is a common feature
of all tribes, religion and association. Therefore all hands must be on deck to turn situations around.

The church in itself is Nigeria's socio-economic problem.

I have more than 23 churches in my street and I have heard different kinds of funny doctrines. Some
balanced, some extreme and some outrightly foolish. Instead of encouraging dignity of labour, we claim
to 'tap' into other people's blessings. Instead of encouraging honest and righteous labour, we endorse
criminality and dishonesty and call it unmerited favour.

I remember when Mr. Lawrence Agada of Christ Embassy stole money from Sheraton hotel and donated
it to Christ's embassy, he was written a commendation letter personally signed by Mr. Chris Okotie.

Go to Oregun Industrial Estate in Ikeja and see how churches have turned the factories into churches.
They're saying it's spiritual revival but spiritual revival doesn't add to a nation's gdp, it only increases the
pastor's networth. It doesn't provide work for unemployed members, doesn't do anything for broke
members.

I think the brand of Christianity practiced in Nigeria is not what is in the Bible as commanded of us and
we must tell ourselves the truth that it's doing more harm than good.

Historically the Church has bred thinkers but sadly today it has shifted to more of tithers!

THE 21ST CENTURY WRATH OF NATURE UPON ANY CORRUPT NATION IS NO LONGER SPIRITUAL, IT IS
ECONOMICAL AND EMOTIONAL. "

The world perished not because of the violence of the evil ones but because of the silence of the good
ones", so they say.

The silence of certain individuals for so long, in a nation where corruption has swept off the ozone layer
of it's economy is an evidence of cowardice or equal share in the corrupt practices.

The RELIGIOUS and POLITICAL leaders are the problems of Nigeria.

The question of 'why the leaders in these two spheres are the richest, whilst their followers conversely
remain the poorest' is still begging for answers.

The lucrative and profitable nature of the business that exist in these two sectors have kept many elites
who know and can speak the truth mum and their glory buried in shame.

Where are the intellectually endowed individuals?

Should we agree that the honors of certain vibrant Professors, Doctors and Technocrats with vast
knowledge in researches on political, scientific, economic growth and development have morally been
ripped off due to their indulgence in the prolific business of Religion and Politics of money?

Religion is driven by theories, Politics is driven by ideologies. The universerly acceptable theories of
Religion as expressed summarily in the Bible and Quran have been manipulated to suit the mammonic
purpose of the preachers. Nigerian Politics on the other hand, are full of ideologies that are of self-
induced motives and totally devoid of the interest of the people.

One can therefore conclude that the deplorable state of the nation is consequent upon the profitable
silence of those who ought to advocate, lead the right course of the people but their virtues and honors
seem to be shortchanged for money.

Until the emerging young generation leaders of Nigeria begin to think out of the box and shy from the
bad examples laid by the failed mammonic religious and political leaders, the Nation might end up being
a specimen of failure for the developed Nations experiments.

Yep, look how backwards Japan and China are in terms of educational and economic developments due
to their rejecting missionaries. good thing Nigerians didn't reject missionaries so they don't have to deal
with the horror of having the abysmal level of development that characterises Japan and China.

Nigeria accepted missionaries and now have adult literacy rate of 54% while Japan that rejected
missionaries now have an adult literacy rate of 99%

Nigeria that accepted missionaries is now branded the poverty capital of the world while Japan that
rejected them are regarded to be one of the richest

Nigeria that accepted missionaries have a life expectancy of 54.5 years (the 7th lowest in the world)
while a prayerless Japan that rejected missionaries have life expectancy of 83.7 years (highest in the
world)

Hosea 4:6 - “My people perish for lack of knowledge”.

Religion is the longest running scam in the history of man.

The people who brought Christianity to Africa used it as a means to penetrate our ancestors in order to
gain human and natural resources.

Today they don’t need religion to do that hence they are no longer religious. Go to most churches
abroad, only the old and aged attend service/mass.
But in Nigeria people troop to churches seeking from God what their failed and corrupt governments
could not provide. Hence these so-called men of God while using God’s name, rip them off the little they
have got in the name of tithes and seed sowing.

Of all of them, T.B. Joshua has one of the most questionable reputations.

What about the case of his collapsed building that killed people?? Swept under the carpet like many
cases involving the high and powerful in this country.

By the way, how come he could “predict” the winner of the U.S 2016 elections but couldnt predict the
collapse of his own building.

Be wise my people, open ur eyes, the difference between fake and real is too evident to be ignored.
Don’t let the hustle for miracles blind you.

Be more spiritual rather religious. Focus on ur personal relationship with your God rather than a$$
licking these so-called men of God.

On judgement day, God wont ask you what church u attended or even what religion u belonged but how
u seved him and treated ur fellow humans.
