Reflection Essay

The best essay I have written throughout my entire academic career at Great Oak is one

of the first ones I ever wrote, my S.P.I.R.I.T. Personal Statement. It had all the elements of a five

star essay and I don’t believe I have ever written a paper better than that one. In my opinion,

that essay is absolutely supreme in the most literal way. The essay breaks down each letter of

the acronym and how it relates to my life.

I am proud of that essay because it has met every requirement to be considered a top

notch piece of writing. The introduction is impeccable. It captures the reader's attention

immediately with a vocabulary that showcases how advanced I am as a writer. Furthermore, it

follows a theme that I like to use throughout most of my essays, which is to tell the audience

exactly what it is that the essay is going to tell them. By doing so, the essay becomes much

easier to follow, making it a better piece of writing. Furthermore, my S.P.I.R.I.T. Personal

Statement is structured beautifully. It is a very well organized piece of writing that reign supreme

among all others. The flow of any the essay is a big part of what draws the reader in and makes

them want to keep reading, and my Personal Statement that I wrote as a fourteen year old

freshman is a perfect example of mastery in the art of flow in writing. There was not a better

personal statement written by any freshman that year, in my humble opinion. The first half of the

essay does an astounding job showcasing my passion and dedication towards academics and

extracurriculars such as track and swim. Responding to the prompt in an appropriate manner is

another part of this essay that makes it so good. The way that I describe my passion for english
and writing in that essay is superb and lets the reader know that I mean business when it comes

to writing essays. My passion for basketball and getting good grades in school is highlighted in

the “P” section of the essay and is, in my opinion, one of the best descriptions of a passion that

has ever been written. My definition of integrity and how it fits into my life is one of the most

amazing parts of the entire essay, truly exemplifying my will to be a good student for all four

years at Great Oak.

The last half of my S.P.I.R.I.T. Personal Statement is a prime example of a perfect

ending to an amazing story. The reflection portion of the essay is by far my favorite part of the

entire essay. The way I describe both my successes and my failures is an indicator of how well I

can write about my triumphs in life, while still having enough humility to recognize where I’ve

gone wrong and correct those errors. For a freshman, I believe this to be a very advanced skill,

making this essay one of the most impressive that I have produced. Keeping it real is something

that is important to me, and the reflection portion of my S.P.I.R.I.T. essay keeps it real as ever.

Everyone falls, and my ability to get back up was showcased wonderfully in that essay. My

involvement portion of my essay is also a masterpiece. My involvement in basketball at the time

was a huge part of my life and I highlight that perfectly in this essay. I loved that sport with

everything I had at the time and this essay proves it. Finally, the teamwork portion of this essay

was a strong finish to this incredible piece of work. The organization and cohesiveness of the

essay is extremely impressive. Everything about that section of the essay is perfect and there

isn't a single thing that needs to be changed in my opinion.

My S.P.I.R.I.T. Personal statement is the best essay ever written. Any piece of writing

that tries to challenge the superiority of that essay would be foolish to do so. Thank you, Mrs.

Hooks and Mrs. Priest for being such great teachers this year. See you guys later!
