Qualification Bachelors degree is required;
Experience Knowledge of different provinces, in particular Punjab and
Kashmir, would be useful. Awareness/experience of interacting
with political parties and civil society groups desirable.
Description To provide political analysis and understanding and
strengthen BHC contact network, in support of three main
UK-Pakistan policy areas: internal Pakistan, Counter-
Terrorism and India-Pakistan.
This will include:
 Strengthen existing network of BHC contacts in
Pakistan Government, Civil Society and Media
constituencies
 Increase depth and breadth of understanding of HMG
policy in Pakistan through effective analysis and
reporting of internal issues and regional policy situation
 Inform effective BHC engagement on human rights, CT,
Indo-Pak and wider bilateral issues through advice on
relationships and key influencers within and outside of
the Pakistani establishment

Skills  Experience of and strong skills relating to project

management, including stakeholder and relationship
management;
 Experience of political influencing
 An excellent command of written and spoken English &
Urdu;
 Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
 Strong self-organising skills;
 The ability to think creatively to solve problems, often
under pressure;
 Willingness to work to frequent and tight deadlines
while maintaining a high standard of work;
 Flexibility and sense of humour required to work
positively in a diverse team;
  Confidence and commitment to deliver results with
minimal supervision;
 Strong IT skills;
