Purpose of Vaccination

Visual Analysis
Vaccines have been around since the 18th century. According to the study (Plotkin et al.,
2011), the advances in vaccines started with a farmer and a physician that wanted to protect their
families from, so they decided to inject cowpox for their bodies to make antibodies to fight the
disease. After this event, vaccines started to be tested on animals, and this eventually led to the
new era of vaccination. This paper will include some rhetorical analysis such as ethos, pathos,
and logos presented throughout ads and academic journals that prove that vaccines are beneficial
to humanity.
The Development of Vaccines article has a brief history of how vaccines started back
then. The paper includes the reason on why they created the first vaccine from a pathogen similar
to the one that attacks the human body, but they infused a weaker version of the disease so that
the body can adapt and fight it off with the antibodies created after the injection. This event led
to the development and the study of new medications that can infect the human body for it to

Audience
The audience of the article and the Ad would be parents since they are the ones who
decide the future of their children. For many years, everyone thinks that children in the world
should be vaccinated, but that’s not the case in many countries. Since many populations have
different beliefs and many of their religious values make vaccination of their offspring a lousy
practice, so they decide not to do it. After mentioning the above, many of the victims are children
living in third world countries, and this and can also be seen in first world countries since many

Nations. The ad is a credible source since this organization has many physicians in it that know
and are experts in their respective fields. The announcement has many the link to their webpage
which makes the ad professional because the connection can take the audience to their webpage
for more information about the topic. It also has the logo of the organization, and this means that
the organization backs up the advertisement and makes it a reliable and authoritative source.

Pathos
Throughout the design of the design of the advertisement, the color and the pictures
make a connection with the reader and have kids who make the audience think of children as
helpless creatures, and this gets the point across. The whole point of the ad is to make parents
think about vaccination, and it gives them information about the topic. It has a fact that says that
every 20 seconds, a child dies from preventable disease and it was a timer, and this makes the

The advertisement has many facts throughout and this makes the visual look more
formal and credible. Many viewers will want to read it and see why children need to be
vaccinated. The facts make the organization look good since they are trying to provide proper
vaccination for all the children, and they give good reasons why they need them. It also says that
they have been giving away vaccines to help children that live in economically disadvantages
Conclusion
In retrospect, the advertisement created by UNICEF had many data that influences many
parents to vaccinate their children. They use many facts and emotional appeals so that the reader
can think and also be an influencer to other parents. The organization also gives credibility to the
