PREFACE
Praise and thank God the Almighty for giving us all his blessings and gifts . I am grateful to be
able to complete the engineering task of an idea with the theme "how to express children's
creativity". I would like to thank Mr. Dr. Edidon Hutasuhut, M.Pd . As a lecturer in educational
psychology who has given this assignment to me , as a training and additional insight and
knowledge in developing ways to initiate children's creativity.

The engineering of this idea is compiled to fulfill one of the Educational Psychology courses,
which in proposing this idea is based on understanding and what the author knows.
On this occasion I express my gratitude for his concern for the engineering of this idea useful for
myself and for the readers.

CHAPTER I
INTRODUCTION

1.1 BACKGROUND

The world of children is the most obvious emotional coloring . Early competencies produced by
children will encourage their next creativity. Children are the purest objects for their abilities
through creativity created . They are not miniatures of adults . Special treatment as children they
really need . Creativity is an activity and the ability to create something or a new combination
based on pre-existing elements becomes something meaningful and useful . creativity can be
realized anywhere , anytime and by anyone regardless of age or certain level of education .
Busy with doing creative things is very useful and gives satisfaction . No doubt that creativity
can improve the quality of life . Creative ideas that are created can be useful for themselves ,
others , even the State is proven by the rapid advances in technology and the development of
science . All of that is one of the contributions of creativity . So , creativity must be fostered
from an early age so that children will not only become consumers but can give birth and
Create something meaningful and useful.

Creativity is a demand for education and life that is very important at this time. Creativity will
produce a variety of innovations and new developments in an environment. Creative individuals
and organizations will always be needed by their environment because they can be able to meet
the changing needs of the environment and be able to survive in a dynamic and tight global
competition.

This very important creative potential is basically owned by every child, that children have the
characteristics of experts are often classified as traits of creative individuals, for example: great
curiosity, love to ask, high imagination, dare to face risks, happy with new things, and others the
like. Nevertheless actor parents, teachers at school, and the environment are important factors
that greatly influence the development of creativity.

1.2 OBJECTIVE
The purpose of writing this paper is to fulfill the task of engineering the idea of educational
psychology, and also to develop ways to initiate children's learning creativity so that later
student learning outcomes are as expected.

1.3 BENEFIT
The benefits of this paper are as a reference for readers to initiate children's learning creativity
and train children so that children can be independent in solving problems in daily life.

How to grow children's creativity

Creativity is one of the potential of children that needs to be developed early. Because creativity
is one of the foundations so that children are able to solve problems and can explore something
new. All of this is the capital for future success.

1. Play

Can be a medium for developing children's creativity through toys or giving children the freedom
to play in nature with their friends. In this way, children will get used to interacting with their
environment such as experiences that will make them learn a lot, including solving problems.

2. Let the child imagine

One way to train imagination in children is to read books every day. By giving him the opportunity
to choose the book he likes. Involve children when reading books. In addition to training his
imagination, reading books and storytelling can add to the vocabulary he knows. Or it could be by
inviting children to play role play by playing the appropriate role that he aspires to with his simple
equipment .

3. Look at children's interests and talents

Try to start paying attention to what your child likes whether your child likes to draw, stack things,
exercise, dance, or anything else. After, we know it, then we start sharpening early, such as: by
preoccupying it with activities that it likes. thus the child's ability to be well honed.

4. Free your child to explore

Allow your child to explore the world around him , of course , with the supervision of his
parents . parents must be prepared by the child's questions . Therefore , parents need to equip
themselves with knowledge that can be obtained by books , websites and sharing with friends
who have children of the same age as your children.

5. Don't force children

If the child does not show talent or creativity. Parents do not need to be too push them , because
all of them need processes and time and what parents have to do is stimulate them to get their
creativity out .
6. Give new experiences
Providing new experiences can be done by bringing your child to places that have never been
visited and must be educational . like , visiting museum , library . This is done to foster children's
talent in innovation .

7. Give praise

Always give praise to the child if they do a creativity to be motivated to imagine .

2.2 IDEA ENGINEERING

A. The definition of creativity


In General Creativity is a person's ability to produce compositions, products, or any ideas that
are basically new, and previously unknown to the manufacturer. which can be imaginative or
synthesis of thoughts whose results are not just summaries . Can include the formation of new
patterns and the combination of information obtained from previous experience and
transplanting old relationships into new situations and may include the formation of new
correlations.

Based on the explanation above , creativity is the ability to produce new things that have
never existed before . The process of producing new things can come from imaginative
processes of the creator himself , can also come from information and previous experience
about things that will be created , then the creator to merge and renew the work and ideas
that have ever existed to produce new works and ideas, and different from existing works .
Creativity as a process or ability that reflects fluency , flexibility (flexibility) and originality
in thinking , and the ability to elaborate (develop , enrich , detail) an idea . This understanding
emphasizes aspects of the process of change (innovation and variation).

Creativity is one of the potential of children that needs to be developed early. Why? Because
creativity is one of the foundations for children to be able to solve problems, you think out of the
box, and explore something new. And all that, can be a capital for the success of children,
whatever field they choose later, doctors, architects, researchers, directors, or journalists.

B. Here are 11 ways to sharpen and sharpen children's creativity in a fun way:
1. Playing

Playing can be a medium for developing children's creativity. For that, provide a variety of toys
for him. You can buy it - of course it doesn't have to be expensive - or make it yourself using
existing ingredients. To find toy making ideas you can search for it on Pinterest - DIY or art and
craft keywords - and on Instagram. In addition, give him the opportunity to play outdoors, get to
know nature, and play with friends. Through that way the child will be rich in experience and
accustomed to interacting with the environment which will make him learn many things,
including solving problems.
2. Let the Child Imagine

One way to train his imagination is to read books every day . Give the child the opportunity
to choose the book he likes . Involve the child when reading by asking him to guess , the
voice of a character or character . In addition to sharpening the imagination of reading a
book and storytelling , it will add to the children's vocabulary . Also invite children to play
role play . For example , asking him to be a chef or doctor by using toy equipment . With that,
with his imagination the child will try to portray these things.

3. Creative Questions

Try to give creative questions and encourage them to express both verbally and non-verbally.
Like, "Try, kid, tell Mother, how do you play this toy?" Or "What will happen if the water tap is
not closed?". Pay attention to the child's answer, even if it's not entirely true, but it tries to think.

4. Avoid the Wrong Word

Sometimes a child's reaction or imagination is not always the same as a child. For example, he
drew a car with a triangle wheel. If this happens, try not to say "WRONG" to his imagination.
You can say "Very interesting. Approximately the car can go no if the wheel is shaped like that .
"Listen to the explanation. Who knows, he made the picture because for example, because the
wheel was broken.

5. Look at Interests & Talents

Try to start paying attention to what toddlers like. Is he happy to draw, stack things, exercise,
dance or anything else. After knowing, his hobbies, start you hone them early. For example by
providing crayons and drawing paper for children who like to draw, train them to exercise for
children who like sports and put them in art studios if children like art. Thus, the child's ability
to be honed properly.
6. Free the Children to Explore

Children are equipped with high curiosity . So , let them explore the world around them . Of
course you need to tell which ones are dangerous and which are not. For example , you certainly
need to tell that the fire is hot and can injure by bringing a match in a nearby fire . You also need
to be ready to answer questions about various things . Therefore, you also need to equip yourself
with a variety of knowledge that you can get through various information in books , websites , or
sharing with friends who have children after .

7. Don't Forced

If your child doesn't show talent or creativity, you don't need to be too push them . For example,
by just focusing on developing it there. All need process and time. All you can do is provide a
stimulus to get your creativity out, like playing activities. Slowly it will definitely be visible. Most
important is that he must do it by enjoying and enthusiastic.

8. Give a New Experience

Give special time for children by taking them to places that have never been visited such as
museums, zoos, rice fields, gardens, farms, traditional markets, and recreational parks. In this
new place the child will see, touch, hear, feel and even smell something new that will enrich his
experience. With that experience, the child will become a capital to do something creative.

9. Reduce Prohibition

Did you know that a ban can kill someone's creativity? This also applies to toddlers . As much as
possible you reduce "forbid". For example, you forbid children to hold mud or frogs , just
because you are afraid of dirty hands , even though dirty hands can be washed . In stead of ,
give advice on what he should do , not forbid it . For example, may hold mud and play with mud
as long as after washing hands . However, in certain conditions if forced, you of course must be
firm . For example , the child wants the slide on the handle even though it is dangerous. If that's
the case, say that you don't want him to get hurt and he can't play anymore. The solution is you
can ask him to play slide in the park.

10. Fill in vacation time with creative activities

Creative holidays for children do not have to be expensive, but what is important is in
accordance with the child's interests This can even be done at home. For example by gardening,
decorating rooms, making "DIY" creations and much more. You can also invite out of the house
like playing outbound games. That way children will get many lessons to socialize, cooperate,
tolerance and of course fun.
11. Give Praise

Always give praise if the child does something negative. For example, children play airplanes
with mango leaves or with paper plates. "Wow, the plane is really cool. Where do you want to
fly? "You can say that. That way will make children motivated to imagine and look for new
things that will steal your attention. But also always remind your child that it doesn't matter if
you make a mistake, because from there he will know and try again and find a solution. All of
that will make children more eager to try something new and not afraid to make mistakes.

C. The importance of developing early childhood creativity


The development of creativity is very important to be developed from an early age. Because
creativity is very influential in developing aspects of early childhood development, if children's
creativity is not developed early, the intelligence and fluency in children's thinking does not
develop because of creating a product and creativity talent. high intelligence is needed high
enough too. For example, when a child is asked to make something out of square shapes, if the
child makes the square into a house, book, medicine box, or chest, this shows the child's
fluency in expressing ideas because the ideas produced vary.

the development of creativity is very important to be developed from an early age because
creativity is very influential in developing aspects of early childhood development. If the
creativity of children is not developed early on, the intelligence and fluency in children's
thinking does not develop, because to create a product and a high talent for creativity requires
a high enough intelligence.

Regarding the pre-literacy movement for PAUD children, the national language or Indonesian
language is a nation unifying language that is necessary and must be used by future generations
and needs to be taught from early childhood (0-6 years). Through the use of the national
language or the Indonesian language, it is expected to be able to boost children's intelligence,
especially language skills, which in turn contributes to the readiness of children to enter higher
education and later life.

D. function of developing creativity in children


The function of the development of children's creativity is to develop the intelligence and ability
of children to express and produce something new. If the potential possessed is well developed,
the child will be able to realize and actualize himself into a true human being. For example: a
child makes a stone doll, a child can make a creation to make other things that he wants.

E. inhibiting factors and factors supporting the development of creativity in children


In the development of creativity there are several factors that influence it, namely inhibiting
factors and supporting factors. The first factor inhibiting creativity is that children are taught to
accept what is set by authoritarian figures, obey the rules and decisions of adults in their home
environment, then this will be developed in the school environment. A very authoritarian
environment will hamper children's creativity. If the child does not get supportive mental
stimulation, creativity will not be formed.

While the supporting factors of creativity are families of creative children who tend to accept
children as they are not force to change them, stimulate their intellectual curiosity, and help
children to choose and pursue something of interest. Mental stimulation and affection also
function as supporting factors for children's creativity.

F. constraints in developing children's creativity


Constraints in Developing Children's Creativity. The obstacle is that in an effort to help children
realize their potential, they often use compulsion so that children want to learn. Using force
and violence will certainly be accompanied by threatening children with punishment or
imposing rules, but if replaced by giving gifts or excessive praise will also have a negative impact
on the child.

3.1 CONLUSION

Creativity is basically the ability of a person to make something new that is relatively different
from what already exists , based on existing data that reflects fluency, flexibility, originality
in thinking and elaboration. The product of creativity is not something completely new , but
can be a combination of data or elements that have been there before so that it produces
something different . Creativity is one of the potential of children that needs to be
developed early , because creativity is one of the foundations so that children are able to solve
problems and explore something new . All of this can be a capital for future success.

As for several ways that can foster children's creativity, namely:

In the process of developing children's creativity there are so many benefits to the pattern of
thinking that influences life in the future. The process of developing children's creativity is also
accompanied by factors of encouragement and supporting factors and constraints faced.
Therefore parents must train themselves to solidify themselves so they can help children in
developing the creativity that is in themselves.
