ESET in the News

At first when I heard we had to do work in our advisory, I was kinda of mad because in
middle school we didn’t do any work for advisory. Also cause my friends told me they don’t
have to do nothing in there class. The first couple of weeks of watching the news it was really
boring. But later in the semester the news were getting interesting. I heard interesting news
stories from around the world.

The most interesting environmental story I heard was when hurricane Michael was
forming. I heard this story on October 10. There was a hurricane storm that wasn’t really strong
and people didn’t think it was going to get as strong as it did.This relates to environmental
because it is talking about storms. This story interested me because nature can be very
unpredictable. You never know if it might get stronger.

The most interesting technology story is where people are building artificial intelligence.
People are saying that they want to take over the world. I heard that they have said it and they
have made their own language to communicate to one and other. The engineers say in the future
they are going to make billions of artificial robots that respond to behavior and o work for
humans. This relate to technology because they are building robots. This is interesting because
this could be our future.

The most inspiring story was when this one kid went on ted and she built something
without any new technology. I heard this story September 4.A girl from Africa built a machine to
scare lions away from there cows. She saw that her tribe was killing lions and the lion is killing
there cow. She didn’t want for her tribe to kill the lions so she designed a flashlight to scare of
the lions. It worked because the lions didn't kill any cows.

A story that I liked was the one were the people fly on planes and they feed the cloud. I
like it because it is a way to make it rain more. Another story that I liked was when the volcano
erupted in Hawaii. That was a big volcano and it made millions of people evacuate. Also a robot
dog that can help you do your chores.

Watching the news has altered my view in the world by showing me how far technology
has gotten us. How we really do need technology. We can do many amazing things with
technology. What I also learned is that you don’t have to be the wealthiest person to build
something good for your community. In general the news has told me a lot with what happens
around the world.
