KETCHUM UNDERWAY WITH PEANUT BUTTER CAMPAIGN – Ketchum, a global PR firm, is now working with the
National Peanut Board through 2019 to get peanut butter back in the grocery cart, on the table and in the news. Ketchum kicked off
the campaign with capitalizing on real-time opportunities that inject peanut butter into relevant pop culture topics. For example,
when the most recent star of TV’s The Bachelor, Colton Underwood, shared his love of peanut butter on social media, Ketchum sent
him a peanut butter-lovers package complete with a customized peanut butter spoon. Underwood was so delighted that he took to
social media again to share the peanut butter love with his fans, which resulted in one million potential views.
For PB&J Day in April, Ketchum successfully encouraged key influencers and media contacts to spread the word by sending
special celebration packages that included a variety of peanut butter, jelly and PB&J swag. In total, more than one million
consumers were reached with content that celebrated peanut butter and sparked nostalgia for the beloved PB&J sandwich. Coverage
included media from OK! Magazine; Cosmopolitan; and morning shows in New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Ketchum is now centering their influencer and in-store activations around strategic moments in time: Summer, Back to
School and Holiday. Fifty online influencers will create and promote delicious and approachable recipes using peanut butter as the star
and inspire our target audience to use peanut butter more often. In-store activations will leverage Ketchum expansive network of
registered dietitians work in grocery stores across the country. Supermarket RDs will receive a digital toolkit for each of the
highlighted themes to help support an in-store sampling and demo for shoppers. Toolkits include NPB materials and recipes and
suggested talking points and social media content. More later. S&P / USDA showed peanut butter usage in March jumped +23.5%.
